How To Make Mango Lassi - Indian Drink
Mango Lassi
Mango Lassi is a favourite drink among Asian communities, and is available in most restaurants and takeaways.
i have been given this recipe, once again, from my friend Shuhel Rana, who has been in the Indian food business for a very long time.
this drink is very refreshing, and also good for you. It can be drank before, during or after any meal.
Here it goes!
This is a simple recipe and all the ingredients you will need is listed below.
- 1/2 litre fresh yogurt (can be any type of yogurt)
- 1/2 pint of milk
- 1 whole fresh mango (or you can use 1 tin of mango pulp, but fresh is a better option)
- 1/2 pint double cream
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 10 cubes of ice
Gather all the above items and place in a clean blender and blend until it is very smooth and fine.
Taste the mango lassi and see if you need to add anything else of the above items to make it to your taste. Everyone has different taste, i like mine as displayed above, so play around with it a little bit until you get it to taste to your liking.
Other options
You can make mango lassi in many different ways. You can add salt instead of sugar if you prefer.
You can also add fresh lemon or lime juice to have a tangy and thirst quenching taste.
Another option is if you add fresh lemon or lime juice, add a teaspoon of medium hot chilli powder, but you have to use less yogurt.
Try all different options and see what you can create. Invite your friends over for a drink of refreshing mango lassi!
