I think the article makes some good points. In addition Obama has spent more time on vacations, playing golf, and fund raising etc while ignoring D-Day, Memorial Day, and the on going oil spill crisis. This certainly doesn't look like the change he was talking about when he was running for office.
Well...why not?
He gives us peons the small change, while he keeps the big currency to use as he pleases.
He is such a promise-keeper! Love love love his "change".
Just behaving like old royalty...oops, that's not right, royalty would acknowledge with great unifying pomp our national holidays of importance, and our tragedies, all the while engendering enduring love from the masses that they keep at foot and ration out what they judge they need, and elevating their most beloved supporters to titles and monies as reward for their cleverness and endless scraping at the royal heel.
And most likely old royalty would have an 'endless love' for the natural bounty of their beloved home country and would have shaken a few heads after the oil spill and jumped in to advise and assist and make a few jobs for the minions dumping hay and carpet pads in the ocean, burning off some of spill despite the EPA protest, and federally commandeered every big made for sucking up oil ship within 2000 miles........something like that.
Just my Opinion.
It is not like he would be catching the bus or ordering Papa Johms even if he wasn't President.
The thing is, Obama promised to be different, to do things differently than in the past. It appears those were just empty words.
It is pretty tacky to be doing this when so much of the country is hurting so badly. I just wonder if we would hear more about it if these had been the Bush days??
Obama did not ignore Memorial Day, he certainly hasn't ignored the oil crisis. He can be criticized for other things, no point in throwing in a couple of lies there.
Where were you when Bush was President? He was at his ranch almost as much as he was at the White House. Were all you people getting on his case?
Okay, he didn't ignore Memorial Day, he just blew off Arlington and participated in a ceremony in Chicago, but D-Day, didn't even get a mention on the WH web site!
Why would you begin an argument supporting Obama with the question of where I was when Bush was president? What difference does it make where I was? I'm a nobody! If that's the best you can do to support Obama, you have a problem!
I am just replying to this specific criticism.
This get so OLD. Do you know how to do a Google search? If you did, then you would know that President Obama honored D-Day on its 65th Anniversary, continuing a tradition of prior president's who DIDN'T do anything special for D-Day every year and generally DID honor it on major anniversaries.
"Bush administration commemorated D-Day in 2001 and 2004, but spent others in meetings and at least one concert. White House archives of June 6 for each year President Bush was in office only show Bush commemorating D-Day in 2001 and 2004. In 2001, Bush dedicated a D-Day memorial in Virginia, and in 2004, he went to Normandy to mark the 60th anniversary of D-Day. There are no "news" references to D-Day in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, or 2008.
On 2005 D-Day anniversary, Bush hosted a concert celebrating Black Music Month and did not recognize the holiday."
If you click this link, you will find references for all of the above.
As far as the vacation criticism, it's ridiculous to criticize Obama for the number of vacation days he has taken in his first year when you look at it in relation to other recent presidents.
Carter: 19 days
Reagan: 42 days
Bush II: 69 days
Clinton: 21 days
Bush I: 40 days
Obama: 26 days
I could go on to check the facts about the rest of your criticism, but hey, wouldn't it be nice if you did that yourself before you even posted?
I just head he has played golf over 40 times...sounds like he is not logging those vacation hours correctly. Not that I care, the question was huge parties costing US millions...TACKY
I think that Obama is spending too much period! It does seem that he is always jetting off for vacations, get a ways, or campaigning for someone,(which has turned into a curse for those he campaigns for)...
He gets free passes on many things that President Bush was literllay hung for..
The President wants pizza? Why not order it out. In fact why not send a jet to Chicago to pick up the families favorite Chicago pizza. You got a problem with that.
You can eat english muffins with sauce on it, who cares!
As long as the Obama's do not have to settle for a pizza made in ughhhh Washington!
On a personal note... you can never spend too much on parties..
Exactly! Especially when you're spending OPM (other people's money)!
I read a quote the other day that seems to be applicable.
Socialism is great until you run out of other peoples money.
I believe this was Margret Thatcher.
Obama is living higher than he could ever even imagine. He has a free ride for the rest of his life and he is... like the Presidents who preceded him living it up.

in light of the current sociopolitical and socioeconomic situation regarding the United States of America? Do you believe that President Obama is doing the best job he can under the circumstances? Do you maintain that President Obama can do a much better job as President? Do you contend that...

One of President Bush's arguments for invading Iraq was the strong Hussain-al Qaeda connection. The anti-Iraq invasion group said there was only very skimpy evidence of that and much stronger evidence that such an arrangement couldn't exist;. After several extensive post-war...

I'm aware that this is an election year. I know that everyone is entitled to their opinions. But over the last year and a half, I've noticed some blatant forms of disrespect being directed at President Obama. Why? Is it because he is black? From highway billboards to other political figures...

Did President Obama compromise too much in extending the Bush tax cuts to all, while continuing...unemployment benefits. Is there a better solution to satisfy all parties?

Vanity Fair ( that paradigm of liberalist-leftist publication) in its most recent issue, spread out quite a bit of pictorial essay on what they term as Barack Obama's " laid-back style of presidential leadership".At a time of societal dessication, governmental ...
