Pages= increase impression

   I was wondering what everyone thinks about longer hubs being divided in pages.
   
   Lets say a hub of 1200 words divided into 300 word pages= 4 pages
   this may increase page views and possible revenue.
   
   I think it will make longer Hubs look less overwhelming to read also you can stop and come back knowing what page your on.
   
   Would you prefer your long hub divided into pages or you like them just the way they are?

      Forcing some sort of division of Hubs seems wrong to me.  After all, authors presently can make long Hubs, or create a series of linked Hubs as they wish.
      
      What you are proposing seems redundant given what is already possible.

         I didnt mean 'dividing' Hubs, what i mean was for a long hub be split into pages under the same Hub e.g pages 1,2,3 etc. its different proposal from having series of hubs linked

   Welcome to HubPages!
   
   On the thought of breaking down hubs that are 1200 words, into smaller hubs is not a good thought.
   
   A quality content hub is about 600 or more words. Some people will say that the best is between 1000-2000 words.
   
   HubPages minimum for standardization of a hub is about 400 words or more(might get tagged for substandard), except for poems/poetry writings.
   
   Just a thought.

      Hey Cagsil what i meant was a 1200 word hub divide into pages within the same hub not smaller different hubs
      an example would be associated content when u get the 'next page' options at the end

      is there a word count counter on HP?  Or do you estimate?  I have some shorter and some longer hubs.  I try and cut out unnecessary words.

         yea there is a word counter when you add you content to the text capsule. i advise against cutting out words, i have been amazed at the weird phrases that get me traffic

   Squidoo has started doing this. I've only used it twice. I still prefer everything on one page, but it does help with loading times.

   Associated content has been doing it; Helium also started following it. The intent is purely commercial. More pages means more scope for ads (perhaps under different contexts based on key words in each page). It may be a commercially smarter move, but personally I would not prefer it. But I will not be surprised if Hubpages too follows suit.

   Well increasing impressions is not a big of a focus for me as increasing the clicks. I do not think this would be an improvement. I think the capsules, Amazon stuff, pictures and polls already give it enough variety.

   I would love to see that. Currently I am doing it manually, and I can see an increase is page views and revenue as well.

   Search Engines prefer pages with around 1200 words is what I heard, and from my experience these are the ones that get the most traffic

   I do a fair bit of surfing about for information, when I find pages split in that manner I tend to go back to the search and choose the next option so I can read what I want without having to read it in small bite size chunks..

   You can create a series of Hubs and link them together, but I would make each hub around 600+ words at least.
