I did notice that the Holiday catagory is missing Halloween.

      Hi Moonmaiden,

Halloween is a 2nd level category at:

      Holidays & Special Occasions/Halloween

I think somebody else might have suggested this - but an environmental, green, recycling category would be great and have good appeal.

      Hi Iphigenia,

We have a whole second level category at:
      Technology/Green & Alternative Energy

      Recycling is found at:
      Technology/Green & Alternative Energy/Recycling & Repurposing

I just published a hub about the older people, wisdom, past generations and so on and truly did not find a category where I felt comfortable listing this hub. I think we need something in that area, just a suggestion

I also feel that we could use something to better define under home and family because it is way too general. Maybe they should be separated and maybe I need a crash course in better understanding the categories but maybe giving us the choice separated instead of the three linked system now provided would work a little better. MAYBE?

      Hi C.S. Alexis,

The category you are looking for already exists.  It can be found here:
      Knowledge & Education/History & Archeology/Twentieth Century/Nostalgia & Personal Experiences

I agree with you that categories are not perfect.   I'm not clear on your thinking on how Home & Family could be improved.  If you could give me an example of a a hub title that does not fit in well with Home & Family, that would help me to understand your point.

      Hi AEvans,

For a wedding as an event, how about using:
      Gender & Relationships/Weddings/Planning

      or

      Gender & Relationships/Weddings/Themes & Ideas

Is there a category search function somewhere that I'm missing or is that something that is still forthcoming?

larryfreemanposted 15 years agoin reply to this

      Hi eyeam4anarchy,

There's a Search Tab that is already there.  Just click on the Search Tab and you can search through the existing categories.

The Search Tab is found as part of the categorizer (the tool that you get to when you select "Categories" on the "My Account" page.  If you've already categorized all your hubs, just select one of the categories in the "Category" column.

It is also found on the "Create a Hub" page in the "Choose a Category" section.

          Hi Ralph,

Great idea.  I've added a new category at:

          Personal Finance/Income/Scams & Frauds

      Hi Stacie,

Each of the top level categories has numerous how-to/advice section.

Does your hub fit into one of the top level categories?

Chakras and those type of activities would probably fit well under Meditation, wouldnt it? sort of near Fitness?

This comment may come too late to be useful but I completely agree with many who would prefer to have a "spirituality & beliefs" category with religion being somewhere in the second or third sub-category.

I also understand that we just have to pick and maybe get lucky - for example I'd like to write on metaphysics which could be alternative health but might appeal or have greater exposure under beliefs. In a category that requires it to be under religion - well, even I wouldn't check there if interested.

It was accurately pointed out that color "therapy" would be under alternative health, yet there's intrigue to use it for other applications (color tests prior to employment-wide spread in Europe). One Brain facilitating heals but one must first believe...

It would be good to have a forum that could focus on quality affiliate marketing products and resources...not just the bunch of junk that we always seem to get. I know there are great products out there. It would be nice to know which ones are and which ones to avoid.

"Laos" is missing in the list of countries HP lists under "Recipes." Thailand and Vietnam are listed, but why no Laos?  I had to stick my "Introduction to Sticky Rice" hub (ha ha) in South East Asian recipes.  Surely you could squeeze Laos in there?

      Hi Dohn121,

Thanks for your request.  I just added Laos category to Food/World Cuisines.
