Well you see Mr. qwark, God was sitting around his office one day when he had this great idea..."Hey! If I tempt my newly created children, then someday, an atheist is gonna ask why I did it."  Now if you ask 100 atheists the same question, what will they say? smile

Why are you asking this?    Your question reminds me of someone who wants to jump into the middle of a subject, without really knowing anything about it.

If your question is akin to pulling the 44th page out of a Dr Who book, without ever having read, seen, or ever heard of him before, and then asking obscure questions about what's written there, you're just not going to get very far.

So, is this a question to stir argument, or, would you really like a serious answer?

What I want to know is...

Well, Jesus was said to be tempted by Satan.
Satan offers Jesus the whole Kingdom.
    Supposedly Jesus declined the invitation...
    Yet... Jesus is king?  lol

I hope I do not get my enjoyment from ridiculing others beliefs when I turn 60.

It's not enjoyable though it is funny. Ironic.

Thanks. If it is funny, I would imagine it is enjoyable to that person. You are still young, I was referring to the OP.

So when you get older, do you take things far too seriously and then nothing is funny or enjoyable anymore?

If I saw someone slip on a banana, I would laugh unless they got seriously hurt and then I wouldn't laugh and if I saw someone laughing I would punch in the face.

"So when you get older, do you take things far too seriously and then nothing is funny or enjoyable anymore?"

No, I hopefully learn from my previous mistakes that ridiculing others doesn't gain any wisdom or make any progress. All it does is boost personal ego and enjoyment while the ones ridiculed are sacrificed. There are plenty of ways to educate and be educated by others without sacrificing them for personal entertainment.

Why would anyone sacrifice good entertainment? Have you ever watched The Roast on Comedy Central?

Thanks.  The people on Roast are there purposely to be made fun of, there is a difference. Do you make fun of children with special needs for your personal entertainment as well? Some people have been taught a belief since childhood, is it funny they are stuck in the belief?

Ridiculing is not a good thing; it is a negative trait, those who are used to it lose good reasoning ultimately.

temptation leads to unfolding manifestation and the propagation of creation...  as we are all co-creators and signed up for this gig...  do not blame outside forces for that in which you willingly participate!

something like that...  but the answer lies within and not with something mysteriously outside you...  what you sense outside you, you have placed their with your will alone...  it is an illusion to think that the power comes from outside.

Thanks. Exactly. Then complain about how dumb society is for being so religious when you do nothing but ridicule in order to educate. Ridicule isn't education, it's content.

Luv: Exactly! Why does anyone take any of this seriously?
It's a way to pass the time, meet people, small talk and maybe, just maybe, along the way ya pick up a little unexpected tid bit of interesting trivia that can be educational and may tittilate one's grey matter. I love "input." "Specially if it is related to subject matter that can be toyed with and can create lotsa responses....to me the forum is a facet of "joy" in my life. I never become passionately involved. No anger...lotsa disgust....lol. No reply will ruin my day...lol...anyway, serious fun? sure!

There is no answer to this absurd question.  That is the fact.  However, indoctrinated people will always come up with something to support this nonsense.  It is compulsive.
