Old Hubs

   Any one have any suggestions of how you guys give old hubs (that are low performing) some fresh juice.

      Re write them, check which keywords are being used to get to it and focus, do a small amount of backlinking, or jsut wait and see what happens

         Heaven only know why I did not think of re writing them. The old hubs are of course some of the ones when I first started writing on HP, and did not have a clue on how to use the keyword search tool.

      Change the summary text to include the keywords you are targeting in first sentence.
      
      Add an additional 10% of relevant content to them but also make sure your keywords are being optimized. 
      
      Go to PingOMatic.com and submit the url of your hub. (This lets the search engines know that content has been updated)
      
      If you are targeting keywords that people are searching for then you should see an improvement it their stats within a day or two.

   Sort out your tags - make sure they are appropriate to the hubs.  Is the content of good quality?  Have you optimized your hubs so as it is good and easy on the eye?  Is your metadescription good and optimized with your keywords or phrases?  Many people call this 'hub tweaking'.  You dont need to promote, just enhance.  Google and hp will do this naturally for you!

      @shazwellyn "Metadescription" whoooaaa I do not use that for any of my hubs.  By metadesciption you are speaking of the first paragraph in the hub correct?

   You could just try that old tried and tested method of "leave well alone"- it worked for me this week.

      Case1 I dont think just leaving it alone will work.   I have a few hubs sitting at a hub score of 47 and others at 50. They have been at that score for months now.

   If you can't be bothered to rewrite them, then I have had success on some occassions with this little technique:
   
   1) Change the title
   2) Change + Add Sub titles
   3) Check and alter/add tags
   4) Add an RSS or News feed if there isn't one already.
   5) Backlink a couple of times
   6) Ping it somewhere to speed up the crawling, Twitter or somewhere.
   
   Has resurrected some of my completely dead hubs. Doesn't always succeed though.

   Just thought I would add this:
   
   I have 2 Hub accounts that I write under...this being the orginal one I signed up for a year or two ago.  Within the past week I went back over the hubs I had here and they were TERRIBLE.
   
   I mean, it just goes to show how much you can learn in a year's time!  They were so bad that I decided to NOT rework any of the really bad ones and deleted probably 15 hubs or so.  They were THAT bad!
   
   My point being, there are hubs that are beyond help in my opinion and in some cases it's just better to start over fresh.  It certainly helped my hubber score so that I'm now in the "Adsense earning" 75+ category!

   I'm an old hubber. OOOOOOOh you mean old 'hubs', sorry got carried away.  I just rewrite them and pop them up again once I have deleted the old bad ones, which in My case, is quite a few.
