need help refreshing my writing skills

   Hi everyone . I haven't wrote much of anything in the last fifteen years and I miss it and have decided to get back into it.
   I am wanting to write in my spare time as a part time job. I could really use some help. i really need some refresher courses. Maybe some classes or mentors. Does anyone have some links or info that might help me or point me in the right direction .

         the 2 replies were very helpful but then the post got moved and i got no more replies , so i thought i would re word the post and submit it again. hopefully it wont get moved this time

         Because moderators obviously think it's more toned for that section.
         
         I'd have to agree, since you're not asking for help for your hubs really, you're asking for help on your writing in general.

   Just start writing, not for profit but for the joy of writing.  Start with your journal, then start writng about the things you love in life.  Just start.

      Before I came to hubpages, I was always like "I'll finish my journalism degree and then one day write a book. I don't know enough to write."
      
      When I joined hubpages I realized - I can just write. You don't need a degree or a mentor or someone peering over your shoulder who supposedly knows more than you.
      
      The hubpages community is full of people who will give you great feedback and help you in so many ways - if you just start writing what you know, you'll learn so much - I have!

   A good way to start is to write " how to do..  something".
   If you are still stuck, you could write an article on " how to not do something".
