   I have written now a few hubs and so far, most of my comments have been indicating that I did quite well, but traffic is quite low and income is practically non-existent and I'd like to speed things up a bit.
   
   I don't have a strong focus at the moment on making insane amounts of money ;-), but in the long run I certainly want to, and the more hubs I have the more work it is to tweak them into the right direction, so I thought this might be a good moment to ask for your advice.
   
   Thanks for all the great work you do here, any time you spend on my page is greatly appreciated. Oh, and I'm not sure if I have to pick any specific hub or if I can just add the link to my hubpage, let me know if I need to be more specific.

      Hi, bojanglesk, thanks for that tip, but I have to confess that I really don't know exactly what you mean by that... (sorry for sounding like a complete nincompoop, but I'm just learning all that traffic stuff...). Any explanation possible?

         A back link is a hypertext link that points back at your hub/s. This is one: Improve Your Hub Earnings - the link is done using simple HTML. I've used the main keyword of the hub for the link. Clicking the link takes you straight to the hub (one to read by the way )
         
         It's simple to learn and easy enough to do, if you want to back link. You need to write other similar articles off-site (Ezine, Go Articles etc etc) then insert your link into the article so that is shows up as the example has.
         
         You'll probably find that most places you can backlink have what's known as a WYSIWYG box - which is an acronym for 'what you see is what you get'. HubPages use one, it's the thing that appears when you highlight words in order to link through to another of your hubs.
         
         Anyway - that's what a back link is. I reckon you've enough the now without wading into the next level. Take it at your own pace.

   Hi Dorothy. I just had a look through your hubs and think you should submit your hub on "how to overcome limiting beliefs around money" to the extreme hub makeover. Hopefully one of the great pro hubbers will point you in the right direction. I am a hopeless amateur.Look for hubs on keywords, backlinking and seo.When you feel ready you could even look into the keyword academy or join in the 30 day hub challenge.Best of luck.

   Dorothy - back linking helps but you need to focus on a few other aspects first. I'd suggest you tighten up your URLs - most are over long. My method (usually) involves finding keywords that are tow or three words long. You can use the title to attract more attention, and making use of tags in your summary is another helpful aspect.
   
   Search engines will display around a 25 word summary at best, your title and URL - so make it count.
   
   Income - the answer is this: if you want to earn online then you need to think about writing hubs that embrace what people are searching for.
   
   That doesn't mean you have to throw out everything you know. It just means you need to focus more on what's being looked for. Learn the basics of SEO, there are plenty of pointers on the site, check out other hubbers hubs on the suject - Misha, Susana S, sunforged, Dark Side, ryankett (to name a few) all have hubs relating to the subject.
   
   Make better use of headers (H2, H3 etc). Break your text up using media. Think about linking related hubs together using anchor text, giving your readers the chance to click through to something that might work better for them.
   
   On a more positive note your hubs are well written, content rich and ooze quality. Use what you have and work with what the search engines want. I'm sure it will be a winning combination.
   
   And finally - patience. Hubs take a while to mature.

      Hi, frogdropping, thank you so much for taking the time for this long answer! The title topic is still a bit a mystery to me, since normally I'd not think about search engines, but just chose a short title, but that somehow doesn't seem to match the needs of SEO, so I'm still in my early learning stages regarding all that.
      
      I start to see that some of my hubs get small, but continuous traffic from google and thats really promising, with the others, I guess I have to tweak until they make it, too.
      
      You're right about the media, at the moment that's a bit thin due to time restraints, I always rather want to get my text out than to have to sit finished until I finally find the right media to go with.  But headers are certainly a good tip, that's something I can do anytime.
