Substandard hub?

   Hi there.
   
   I am currently posting reviews on Canadian insurance companies and one of my hubs still is not approved for publishing. Sure, there are sentences I get from other pages, but how else it can be done? I don't copypaste them, but where would I get the info from, if not from the company web?
   
   And there is no warning, like "substantial portion of this hub appears on other pages" either - HOW THE HELL should I know what's wrong with my hub?
   
   It's just "substandard". Word count is more than 200 hundred, no offensive text, nothing.
   
   What should I do?

      Email the staff and ask someone to look at it. Worked for me on another problem (not substandard but something else). You'll get a very nice reply explaining exactly what's wrong.

   You have to make sure that your original text is more than the text you are quoting.

   A word count around 200, in and of itself, is enough to get a hub moderated as "substandard."

   I looked at a few of your other hubs, and they are way too short -- a few of them were under 150 words. As Website Examiner pointed out, that's enough to get your hub moderated. You need to get your word count up, and should strive for a bare minimum of 400 words, although some folks say that 1000 words is better.

      I wish there were more information on w/c. Paul Deeds said on another thread that Hubs should be over 200 words. Hearsay has it that they should be of at least 400 to achieve any success with the search engines. Does anyone actually know?
      But yes, WE and lrohner are right - less than 200 is too short.

         Yup. We can all compare stats about what's the best word count to gain traction with the search engines, but it would be nice to know at what point HP considers a hub substandard due to word count.

            On the other thread, Paul Deeds indicated less than 200 words. I'd really like to know what is optimal, and whether 200 word Hubs are worth the paper they're written on (except for poetry, of course ).

               Thanks for help guys, I thought I read somewhere that 200 words should be enough, I'll get my word count up and see if it helps.

                  Remember that you will get no credit for duplicate words (text you have quoted).
