   Jackie Chan is out of his mind. Just look at his latest comment: "I'm not sure if it's good to have freedom or not. I'm gradually beginning to feel that we Chinese need to be controlled. If we're not being controlled, we'll just do what we want". OK, Mr. Chan, democracies must be responsible democracies, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE SHOULD BE CONTROLLED OR WE SHOULDN'T HAVE IT. Do you HONESTLY think/believe that Donald Tsang bad-mouthing Hongkongers on his infamous duty visits to Beijing in an effort to delay universal suffrage (or transform universal suffrage into universal SUFFERING) isn't enough? Geez

      You would be surprised how Americans are controlled. We are controlled by essentially a two party sytem that is one party. there are some minor differences but few major differences between the political parties.
      
      Both parties want the banks to control the treasury that should belong to the taxpayer. Both want to continue the Afghan war to build a pipeline to the Caspian Sea. They thought that the war was necessary because the taliban rejected their bribe to build the pipeline when they went to Texas in 1997.
      
      If you read just mainstream news you will never know that the taliban went to Texas. This shows how we think we are free but really have a mainstream press that influences the majority of the people.

         Bang, bg. We think we're free...but we're only as free as we're lead to be. That said...while I'm rather confused by Mr. Chan's words and how he's come to speak them, you must remember he's a product of China. They've lived under a different sort of rule for many years.
         
         Quite recently I was watching a documentary about China and the USA and how we're totally symbiotically hooked on each other...one guy said
         "Do I love my government? No, but I do trust it."
         
         Its really hard to call someone else on their words if you've never lived in their shoes or culture.

            I'm very well of the one party system in the Federal Government. Any person with the ability to see the big picture is.
            
            My point, however, remains the same. Have you now, or have you ever been a member of the people's republic of china?
            
            You're talking about a guy who has grown up in his habitat and likes it for what it is. We're all afraid of change. And Taiwan is an awesome, if not crazy place. I can get on a plane, go to the local government, and set up a G|M office over there in one day.

   There all kinds of controls. We call them governments, and people do need to be governed. Use the dancing analogy. Are people who are line dancing having as much fun as those doing some type of free style dance? The line dancers are being controlled. Falling into step with the others. But, maybe that's all they know how to do. Maybe they like it. If they want to protest, their government will have to handle it. But in reality, Jackie Chan will board a plane and will enjoy the fruits of his success wherever he chooses. While he leaves his countrymen behind.
