As we now know, Google is using social to judge websites and other things with the introduction of the +1 button.

There is a gain to be made at the very outset of this Google experiment where you can +1 sites that is recorded in the serps.

I do not think that sentence would need to much explaining.

I am in Australia and this works fine on our data centre so I expect it would work worldwide. Here is how you get the +1 on your search:

Step 1: - Log into your Google profile from your account settings or go here https://profiles.google.com/

Step 2: - Now go to http://www.google.com/experimental/ and click the button to join this experiment.

Now when you use Google search you will see the +1 next to the serps entries.

Enjoy ... oh and if you see any of my sites .. you know what to do wink, wink..

Do we add the + 1 to each of our hubs? Or, when we join, does it appear automatically once we sign up?

It is my pleasure guys. From all of the data about at the moment there is no clear cut way to use Plus 1. I have seen membership sites start up where you submit your search term, others search and plus 1 your listing.

My personal view is to use the same technique as say Digg. That is, bookmark your page, bookmark 5 to 10 other non related pages and come back and bookmark another one of your pages.

Everything is recorded under your ip and in your profile so I suppose if you don't leave a blaring footprint, this could work.

I am writing my new hub as we speak.

OK I just put up the hub. Its not bad as far as an information hub will go. I reckon the keyword will work well. Maybe the Big G will see my hubpage as an allay.

I just had to be ever so careful not to go over the blackhat line and had to keep it clean.

Having said that, we need a way now to get those Plus 1 votes.

I predict in the very near future that Google will release a widget where you can put the +1 on your website. Remember - you heard that here first.

I may be wrong, but I see this as something Google will ditch fast. It's so clear that it will be majorly abused as nothing more than another way to game the system.

As this very thread shows, how to use it to help your own sites and pages. I think they will see it was a mistake and get rid of it.

So good luck and I hope it helps you, but I'm going to sit this one out. smile

I read something yesterday about it and that it would have to be able to detect obvious spammers or those trying to game it.

    Terry,

I visited your hubs to read your hub on this and while there read your hub on 100 back links and joined SocialMonkee.

Question, when spinning he mentions to separate the words or phrases with a divider (which looks like a straight line)  what character is that?

Thanks for the answer, dumb question I know but I want to be sure to use the correct one.  big_smile

Are you searching for something on google?  There's a button that shows up next to all of the searches.

@CMHypno - I think there was somewhere on the experiment page where it did say it may take a few hours. Your post will definitely help others who might also have the same problem.

@katiem - The | is above the \ button just above Enter.
