The hubpages team has added interesting as a choice for feedback.  I believe that another option for feedback should be "Inspiring"

I've just read 3 hubs that could inspire people and one of them has inspired me to think of this idea.  I think it would be a great option for feedback.

I think an option something that outsiders can see which negatively highlights a hub could be a good idea. Struggling to find the right term to use- something like 'Poor' could be a consideration

I agree with you both, and that is why we need to also see the quantity of down votes we get, maybe that would help us to improve our hubs.

I know that many hubbers have poorly written hubs but they don't know that because people don't usually then them in the comments. If their/our vote downs are more than or even equal to the vote ups, it would make us step back and look at our hubs another time, tweaking it for the better if necessary.

The "Poor" one is an interesting consideration, but I can see a lot of drama coming from this. Forum flame wars could lead a person to "poor" vote all of someone's hubs and then that someone could get really hurt feelings.

What is stopping someone from down voting all of a specific person's hubs for the same effect, minus the ability for the victim to see it perhaps?

An issue maybe, but that perspective sounds a bit, "Kids can't play Dodgeball anymore because it promotes exclusionary attitudes"

I'm pretty sure as adults we should be more than capable of handling it, whether or not some may choose to be.

Of course melbel it would be a contentious issue which could lead to some difficulties. Some form of control would be required however at present you could go through and rate down everyone's hubs if such a thing was to happen.

Maybe- an 'Im sorry this article has not helped me' button would be a little more polite.
