Stupid obvious studies that do little more than keep scientists, statisticians and bureaucrats busy are not the sole province of the United States government. Everywhere there is a giant government with huge sums of money and populated by arrogant liberals driven to make everyone live in their utopian vision there are massive stupid studies bolstering their claim at genius.

We need to be more like Europe, they are so much smarter than we are.
It appears to me that they are banning sellers of bottled water from claiming that bottled water prevents dehydration, not claiming that water doesn't prevent dehydration.
As one who is convinced that bottled water holds no magical properties whatsoever, beyond perhaps the ability to extract large sums of money from the gullible, I find nothing wrong with them preventing the sellers of bottled water from making further silly claims.
Are they making the claim the water from any other source does not prevent dehydration? Is the claim that bottle water prevents dehydration false or deceptive? Is the EU populated by numbskulls who cannot judge whether their hydration requirements are or are not served by bottled water?
I think the suggestion is that the claim that bottled water prevents dehydration is deceptive in that it doesn't do it any better than any other water.
Is it waster? Does water prevent dehydration? If so than the claim is factual, unless the claim is that bottled water is superior or exceptional in the ability to prevent of relieve dehydration. So the EU has decided that a factual statement about the natural property of water even when bottled and sold is a crime and punishable by fine or imprisonment? This doesn't seem insane to you?
Probably best to read it for yourself and decide
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/Lex … 003:EN:PDF
But do read the subtitle-
"refusing to authorise certain health claims made on foods and referring to the reduction of disease
risk"
As usual, you have no idea what those of us who are proud to be called liberals think. No idea at all, so you continue to set up silly strawmen and blow them apart.
Do you never tire of being wrong?
Liberals seem quite incapable of sufficient introspection to see that it is indeed a utopian fantasy that they would impose. Introspection of that depth would end liberalism and so, to cling to the comfort utopia, liberals eschew enlightenment and choose their fantasy, instead.
The Europeans are not alone. We are in a race to the bottom with them. We are both on the lead lap.
Hey, our microwave ovens don't come with warnings not to use them to dry pets or small children
Personally, I think this idiocy is in reading the Telegraph and relying in the content there in. You have studied the Torygraph's history and the EU, right? UCW?
Are the facts contained there in accurate? The mistake is believing that no good information can be gleamed from a source with which one might disagree. Given the impending collapse of the EU it doesn't seem that opposition to it as an unreasonable position.

http://patriotpost.us/alexander/2004/09 … -the-left/A very interesting take on this question written back in 2004 sheds some light on the term and perhaps will convince liberals that they are really tools of forces that have long desired to achieve the destruction of capitalism and...
