Family Drama

   The old adage is that "blood is thicker than water."   Well my adage is family is often the tie that binds and binds.    While many families are supportive there are other families were there are some pretty strong issues.  Issues such as jealously, rivalry, and other forms of manipulative behaviors.   There are family members who expect some type of clemency no matter who egregious their deeds are just because they are blood related.   There are also some family members who view their more affluent and wealthier members as their means of support-leech and parasite city, anyone.   Oftentimes, family=intense drama and baggage!  Many times, you wonder why are you related to THESE people, why a thousand times!

   To Cagsil: If THEY are screwed up and leave YOU alone- that is totally copasetic with me!  However, THEY have the unmitigated audacity to want to involve YOU in THEIR sick, demented melodrama.  It seems like a cesspool that you want to get out of but they keep dragging you back in!

         Yes, indeed.  Most intelligent people do and cut off all ties with their "families" and find warmer and more rewarding relationships with friends and other non-related persons.   However, there are some people who put their family above all else and subsequently become mired in deeper family dysfunction.   These misguided and delusional souls do not or refuse to acknowledge when to leave well enough A-L-O-N-E before it is TOOOO LATE! Remember the road to hell is paved with good intentions!

         What if it's a sister-in-law and she can't be left behind because to leave her behind you'd have to divorce?!

            Just meditate and have a cordial but distant relationship with her.   I understand what you mean implicitly!  Sometimes we have to endure the little annoyances which are our families.
