I do really think that hubpages guys are suffering from bigotry and discriminates Asian especially from the Philippines like me.
Why do you think this? And who are "hubpages guys"?
nomad - I'd be interested to know what some of that food is in the 'Tanker Ship Menu' hub. Maybe you could lengthen the hub by adding description of what is on the table! It looks good!
Not in the HubPages administration. However, it's strong in the forums, especially in the political and religious forums threads.
It comes from within, because I can feel the heat.
I am already 3 years in Hubpages and my score remain in the abyss of 60-70 and never get that 80 for sure dude.
Maybe it is YOU and not some conspiracy against you.
What do you mean ME...just because my hubs do not conform to the Hubpages rules of ultra liberal thinking?
How about I reviewed at least 9 hubs of yours I wouldn't even consider quality by HubPages' standard, yet they remain published only for the pure and simple fact that they have plenty of content.
Liberal thinking has nothing to do with and the fact that you would bring up political ideology into the conversation, just shows you're not clearly thinking.
Oh yeah, and so it only shows that you're part of the bad guys that keep on pestering my hubs. Isn't it bigotry in the highest form dude!!!
I said I reviewed 9 of your hubs. I didn't say I flagged them. Which I didn't.
Well then enough of this conversation if you think I'm at fault so be it, my apology to you and to all.Peace man peace...
Nomad, you are working with a system. HP staff has no time to personally hold it against a hub or hubber because they happen to be from another side of the world. I am an example of the fact that HP are not what you say.
What I suggest is that you review your activities and hubs. Read the articles from the learning center and help section. Don't throw around insults and maybe, just maybe your score will go up.
Check you hubs for errors and grammar. Make sure they are of the highest quality and just maybe they will gain some traction.
More posting in the forums just might fix that.
I think you need to be more active in the community. The staff doesn't have control over your score (right, Ray?). I learned that I should just not worry too much about the Hubber Score, because it always changes and as long as it's over 75, I think you're good.
To increase it, however, just produce some quality hubs (maybe take out the all-caps titles in your hubs) and contribute more by commenting on others' hubs and in the forums. I hope this helps.
I've kind of gotten vibes from the HP staff that they're actually quite the opposite.
I have a tattoo ad on my profile page. What a town...
Sorry to go off subject, but it's my closing rant for the day.
I have met the HubPages staff face to face and I can say, with a huge degree of confidence, that they are as far away from being bigots as anyone can possibly be. I think if you follow the advice of the good people of HP who have offered you tips on quality content, capitalization, community interaction, and making a few friends (or adversaries) in the forums, that you will find a noticeable increase in your score.
BTW~I find your accusations about the HubTeam WAY out of line.
Good luck with increasing your Hubber score~
Chip on shoulder?
Get active on here and you will see it rise lol!!!
I read a bit of your writing. You do very well for a non-native speaker, but you tend to misuse verb tense and some of your word choices are jarring for native readers.
Unfortunately, people will sometimes vote down content like that. Personally, I try hard to look beyond minor misuse - for example, there is a technical writer here who also sometimes exhibits a bit of awkwardness with the English language, but I find that his content and knowledge are strong enough to make that less important.
There is nothing you can do about those who will vote you down for those reasons. Unless you can improve your English skills (and I can only imagine how difficult that must be), they will downrate you. That is a form of prejudice, of course, but it has nothing to do with being Asian or from any other cultural bias.
I don't think any such discrimination exists as far as the HP Team in concerned. As long as you write good content and do not spam the site, they should not have any problem. Maybe such a discrimination may be in existence among some users who are not that progressive enough. I recall some nasty comments in the Forums when I started writing here generalizing 'all Indians' based on some Indian hubbers publishing nude only picture hubs of actresses. I have never published such content and there are plenty of Indian Hubbers who never stooped to that levels to get traffic so it did really hurt. Anyways, there is nothing you can do if anyone shows prejudice except just ignore them and show them that they cannot affect you.
Well, nomad, you don't have a clear sense of history: if someone is bigot to you, then don't be disappointed! Open a bottle of wine, and pour down to ecstasy!
You got an enemy to fight with, and an opportunity to grow and develop; and what more, to surpass him. It's not as bad as you think it is.
Whatever, regarding your allegation- Team HubPages is indeed very frank and secular and progressive. See the 'religion and politics' forums? Nowhere in the world will you see such freedom of expression.
You are accusing the Internet Gandhi for violence.

I am surprised. I yesterday posted this topic 'Can Science explain everything?'. This hubber came out and gave me some answers. Now as I have provided him some reasons, he hot hurt and started to post nasty personal attacks. He said this to me, I quote: "This is why religious people such as...

I just joined Hub pages, and overall I love it. Being payed for it is just a plus to me. But I realize the more people you know and are following the more traffic you get. Is this true?

I'm sure this comment will bring out all the smartass hubbers. And I'm sure you will all visit me with more smartass comments. Well, I'll just count how many of you are out in hubberland then I will go on with my day.

And it's getting worse. I've been on HubPages for almost a year, and it was a lot more fun in the forums a year ago, people use to leave more comments, and some people are just plain rude.
