Blocked right now but have not been for months.  Would love your opinions on what you think brings on a block out of the blue like this.  Does it happen to you?

    Thank you

    Kimberly

Yes. I am having that problem right now! lolo! I believe it is brought because our lives are busy and we have to be in a certain mind frame to write.

I write is multiple venues and never experience writer's block. My method involves planting my ass in the chair and typing, even if I think it is jibberish. The natural flow starts soon. If you are blocked (really bored with) writing on HP, try your website, blog, or a short story or novel for Amazon, etc. The change should bring back the spark.

My blocks seem to be weird because I would be blocked in one area and flowing in the next. Like right now I can't seem to finish my valentine love story but when it comes to articles I keep flowing. I have no idea what to do....HELP ME PLEASE!

I get writers block every now and again where I just sit and stare at my computer screen for hours. Usually I have to do something different each time to break out of it. I've gone for long runs in gorgeous areas while listening to epic music or just forced myself to write the first thing that pops into my head, and usually it goes away if I force it too.

I have no idea what brings it on. I think I just work too hard, too fast and my brain gets tired. tongue

I agree with AEvans. I have the problem now and then with my poetry. The way out of it for me is usually getting myself relaxed in my comfy chair, putting on some background light music, lighting my candle and letting my mind wander. This usually stimulates my thoughts and I begin to scribe.

Firstly I have never had writers block!
I dont write at a computer screen I write the traditional way pen and paper and then transfer onto my computer. I find that its a great way to get creative, and maybe the reason I dont get blocked?? Just a thought....

Also I only write when I have an idea and it just flows out. Sometimes you have to have a break to experience new things, life and the world to get inspiration to write - i would not consider that writers block.
What sort of writing do you do? Are you stuck at a particular part in your writing or having trouble with the idea???

Switching to another medium, like pen and paper, is a good suggestion. I read once that writer's block is caused by being stuck in "editing" mode. When you write a first draft you should let the creativity flow, not allowing yourself to critique what you're writing. This is what stifles your creativity and causes writer's block. I hope this helps!
