Can anyone explain the personal hubpages score to me? My score was seemingly going up until this morning when it dropped from 74 to 70 and now it's down to 69. I understand that a variety of factors contribute to your score, but this is the first time it's gone down since I joined and now it appears to be going in reverse, despite the fact that I've written a number of quality articles and am involving myself in the overall community by reading, voting and commenting on hubs, participating on the forum, etc.
I am still new so anyone who can provide expert feedback would be helpful.
Thanks,
Bill
Excessive following will doom a profile score quicker than anything.
Hmm....so it's better not to follow anyone? I certainly wouldn't call any of my following "excessive". I've only followed a couple people each day when I found their hubs interesting. Could that be a problem?
If you have few hubs the score will usually go down right after you publish a new one. It should go back up fairly soon, though!
Randy, personal hubscores usually go down after publishing a new hub? That's the exact opposite of what I thought would happen. Does anyone know why? Thanks for the input though, very helpful.
Bill, I noticed this occurrence much more when I had fewer hubs, but others have mentioned this on the forums too. I'm guessing the new "low scoring" hub affects the average hub score until the new hub score usually rises after being on the site a few days.
I don't see such a big swing anymore when I publish a new hub, perhaps because the average isn't affected as much now. This is merely my opinion on this phenomena and not from Mr. Ed.
Excepting for a select few, no one knows the inner workings of the various HP algorithms. It could be strictly quantitative. Or it could be ratio-of-total-hubtivity oriented.
As to other possibilities, here's a link to all sorts of speculations.

paradigmsearch,
Thanks for your feedback. I did read a few of the hubs you linked to and they contain valuable information. Though, it is strange that my hubscore has gone down 7 points since yesterday for seemingly no reason that I can figure out. Hopefully it will go back up and even higher in time.

I used to be totally addicted to HP, couldn't wait to log on everyday to see what was happening, who and what was popping in the forums, what interesting hub made HOTD, and of course, how my stats and earnings were progressing. I looked forward to the rush I got from clicking "publish"...

Who thinks we should ask to reinstate a page dedicated to locating hubbers by hubber score. Beginning with 100-0.We once had such a page here that made the hubber score much more relevant, and we could at least get a chance to locate the top hubbers who most definitely deserved high praise for...

My profile score is a 1. Does it go down to zero? It had dropped and just when I thought it wouldn't get any lower... boom!

I just found the HubPages Directory and naturally, looked for my name. It says that authors must have published hubs to be listed there but I can't find my name. How do we get added?
