I am really stunned that we can't put any hyperlinks in our profile bio -- a lot of us had links to lists of our hubs by category. This was useful to the people landing on the site who were interested in some topics, but not others.
1.) I would like to request that we at least be able to keep those sorts of links to internal HP pages (the max 6 featured hubs being in a slider is pretty limited and useless in comparison -- not to mention people are lazy and I think they'll back out before they go through it -- AND, some of the hubs I would have chosen to feature aren't even in the drop down list??)
and/or
2.) I would like to request that we at least be able to control which categories are displayed on the profile page. Or have it generate a LOT more randomly than it seems to be right now.
People are too lazy to go looking through that drop down list, assuming they even figure out it's there. And right now, in my case at least, it's basically a long list of the most recent hubs, and if they are in a series that's going to make people think that's the only topic we write about, when some of us write about numerous topics.
Otherwise, the general appearance of the layout is a nice improvement.
Agreed. One of the "pulls" of Hubpages for many members has been the ability to link what you want on your profile.
Hubberscore stops them being dofollow for most spammers, anyway.
I can cope with not being to link to other non-HP urls, but it makes no sense to prevent us linking to other HP urls.
Isabella, thanks for the suggestions.
Per your first one about links, we removed the links from the bio for several reasons. The vast majority of links where to a person's own Hubs. Hence, we created the Featured Carousel. The second most common links were to social media profiles and blogs. Hence, we enable you to add those URLs. In addition, we want to encourage people to write shorter bios. Too many profiles had very long text (with links to social media, blogs, and Hubs) that actually pushed the content well below the fold of the page.
I think the reason that your Hub does not show up in the drop down menu to be featured is because it lacks a photo. Only Hubs that have images are "eligable" to be featured.
Per you second suggestion about the categories, I will look into how to better surface the categories on the page (rather than bury them in the drop down).
Thanks for the suggestions.
Hello....
WRT to the drop down menu, the particular hub that I was trying to look for in that drop down menu does indeed have a photo. As do all but about 10 of my 1078 hubs, many of which don't show up in that drop down.
If you could somehow at least shuffle the hubs on the profile page, it would be much better than whatever it is doing now, IMO. I've got whole series showing up in order which basically makes it look like that is all I've written about. Or maybe it's just showing the most recent posts in the order they were written, but if you look at my profile, it looks like all my 1078 hubs would likely be about the same topic. A better mix would be appreciated by those who have a mix.
And making the "show" drop down more obvious would be very nice as well. It is not very visible over there on the side, and I don't know what would make people think it would show different topic categories.... I had no idea what it was for until I found it and clicked on it. Why would someone who's never used the site before?
Thanks...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

And I can't change it!!!The wording changed in the profile editor. It now says, "Show only Featured Hubs on my profile: Yes No"Which means we now want to click "Yes". Which I did. And then I saved it of course. But it doesn't work. It keeps reverting back to "No". And...

I just logged in and it shows every single one of my hubs highlighted in pink, to need review. The majority of these were well trafficked and featured hubs or editor's choice. Did something happen? I tried looking in the questions and forums and didn't see anything. I am not a former Squidoo person...

Where are we on this?I see Google has added a new way to verify authors: http://www.google.com/support/webmaster … er=1408986That would seem to make things easier, though we would have to go back and edit hubs unless HP would provide a way to do this automatically if we wanted to (and...

I have finally published a hub that has been deemed unfeatured. I can only direct my attention to a table I inserted which was long when viewed on the mobile platform. Grammar is checked, titles tweaked, content is solid as its in the same vein as my other articles. Do you think this could be it?...
