Iwrite a lot of recipes and have checked google adword tool and followed the suggestions. However, anyone from personal experience find certain wording of recipes to work better.
Yes, I agree. I wrote my first recipe hub not too long ago, and found that it was hard to create a good title. It goes for poetry as well. Often, the "SEO friendly" titles tend to be too long. Wonder if there is a solution to help us be SEO friendly and yet write good recipe and poetry titles.
Let me know if you come up with any great ideas. Someone just got 10,00 views with a simple title and recipe. So it can be done.
I know that recipes are always sought after online. It would be great to hear how the views were obtained on the 10,000 views. Maybe they are using other social medias to promote it as well.
There has to be something to this and hard to believe that all those views would come from social media, but who knows. I have worked and worked on my titles and still get average views.
Titles, captions, summaries are all important in getting the SEO to pick up on your hub posts. Key words are also a good hit. Do you use Google keyword search on your hubs? This helps to highlight what most people are searching for.
I do use google keyword search. Maybe recipes are not that popular..though I think they might be. Thanks for your help!
I use Niche Market Finder (free - http://www. seodevgroup.com/products/Niche-Market-Finder.html), Jaaxy.com (costs $$) and Niche Finder (http:// nichefinder.bradcallen.com/ (costs $$)
- remove the blanks
From a searcher's perspective:
When I search for recipes, I am either looking for a specific recipe, or seeing how to use one or more ingredients.
So, my typical search queries will be something like
traditional bouillabaisse -Wikipedia -video
or
watercress yogurt dressing -Wikipedia -video
I use the - operator to exclude things I do not want. I find -video does a pretty good job of removing videos from search results, since I only want these to show when I specifically search for a video of something.
I do search for recipes a lot, to get new ideas, probably every couple of days or so. I will go through as many pages of results as I need to find something that I like, typically 20-30 pages, sometimes many more.
I guess that for my type of search, the title is not really that important, because I do not have long search phrases.

I don't understand the Exclusive Titles: I just checked a subject I am interested in. I get a title for a Hub that I have already written! I thought the idea was it was Exclusive. I'm very confused. Help.

I know very little about SEO. If you have hubs on niche sites, is it still important to have a knowledge of SEO? I get little love from Goggle.

What do you think about dashes in titles? Does it affect the SEO of that hub?
