So I just wrote a hub and although it is published, and it shows up in my account area... when I try to spotlight it, it doesn't show up at all. I tried leaving the site and returning... I don't know why it isn't showing up as an option in my drop down menu. Its called Silo dreams and I even checked under different titles (cause the first one wasn't accepted) but its just not there.
This might be the answer "Select up to 6 Hubs to showcase at the top of your profile. These Hubs must include a photo that is at least 200x150 pixels."
Here is the related FAQ entry:

Just checked your image is 260 X 115 pixel , so it doesn't fit the criteria
Really? A pic. can keep it from being in the drop down menu for spotlighted material? Interesting. Im so bummed. It was a perfect pic.
Thanks!
yeah, these are software program criteria so when it says 200 X 150 pixels or more, it need to be a bigger and larger image ! yw happy to help just get some other image in which is larger, you sure will find a better one so cheer up
You were right. A new pic. fixed the issue. Thanks again.
If you really like that "perfect pic," there are two things you can do to keep it.
1) Open it in photo editing software to resize it so that it meets the minimum size. This will make it slightly grainy at full resolution, but you can display it at half or quarter size.
2) Add a second larger photo--it sounds like you only have the one now. Place the perfect pic first and the larger one second. The perfect pic will display next to your summary, but the larger one will be used for the spotlight. This second tactic is outlined in greater detail in my hub on Photo Capsule Advanced Techniques. See the paragraph just above where the link below will take you. Note that this hub actually uses that tactic; the second image is the one in my spotlight series, while the first image appears next to summaries.

I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager for simple resizing, etc. It's in the package with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., if you use those tools. Hope someone benefits from my tips.
Im sure someone will. I just have a very old comp. Thanks again.
Beth, photos have become very important in my hubs as a way to show instructions on "how to" hubs. I've used old softward called Picture it! from MS in the past, but received an inexpensive photo editor for Christmas called Photo Explosion I'm learning to use now.
Fairly simple to use and fairly inexpensive, I can recommend it for anyone not needing a professional software package such as Photoshop.

There is a new heading on the my account page called photos. It has all the photos I have used in all my hubs, and since I have used some more than once, they appear more than once. I was considering deleting the extras but then feared that they may disappear from the hubs in which they were used....

I finally tried including a Made for Pinterest (MFP) image in my latest Hub! WryLilt and others have provided great tips on how to do this to increase traffic. I decided to give it a try.I attempted to add the text to the photo using GIMP 2 (a free graphics program), but this was not...

I don't see where else to place this issue--I don't think it's exactly a "bug," but more of a change that was made???At any rate, the problem is, it used to be that when you clicked on any photo in any hub, it would open the photo alone in a new temporary window without taking you away...

What would be your caption for this photo? Now, keep it clean - no profanity. A caption can make or break an image. What caption would you use for this photo? Image source: Pixabay - Alexax_Fotos https://pixabay.com/en/frog-toilet-loo- … y-1037253/

Hi MickiIf you've noticed I've not written any hubs recently, I'm on my vacations from University and thought of doing a 30 hubs in 30 days challenge. Rather, I've gone for a 30 Wizzley articles in 30 days - for a good reason: Their amazon Capsules are way better formatted - users feel like...

I have been advising people to use the free text editor, Picmonkey.com, for years. Today I went on the site to rework a photo, and after I did, the site would not allow me to down load it. Seems they now want everybody to pay a fee for use. Anybody else having this problem? ...
