"Science nerd expelled, arrested for ill-advised experiment"
http://now.msn.com/science-project-gone … d-arrested
Now it's a felony.
I'm with one of the commenters who said we need more information about the incident.
In this day and time, with kids surely aware of current terrorist events and such, I can kinda see how that student would be expelled....maybe. Arrested? I dunno.....
We'd need to know more.
it's too bad that kids should be aware of current terrorist events...they need to be kids....their world should be much smaller...and do dumb kid stuff...like kids do...
I agree they should be allowed to just be kids.
But.....I'm pretty sure even just kids should know not to make explosions in school without it being an authorized and supervised science experiment.............
i did think of the terrorist thing myself at first unfortunately....i wish it would all just go away...and the word would disappear forever......and communities would be safe...again...and kids could just be kids again.........
peace Brenda.....
That would be so nice, wouldn't it?!
Ah, we can dream.
But then we gotta wake up and face reality.
Life has never been all serenity.
But yes it could surely be safer and more peaceful without having to worry about people blowin' us up with bombs.
It seems like the more that people become civilized in one area, the more another scenario pops up. Instead of progress, regression. One step forward, two steps backward. We worry about being blown to smithereens, calling it terrorism, while we kill our own unborn and call it our right.
Which reminds me of that young girl who's the subject of this thread. She's being punished for doing something stupid that might harm herself or others, while her school probably also teaches her that a fetus is a parasite that she can decide to kill if she wants to.
Inconsistent. Inconsistency in teaching youngsters what's right and what's wrong. No wonder their consciences are like roller coasters.
Brenda....you just ruined this with the abortion piece....that's not what my comments were about......i do not know whether or not abortion topics are discussed in school or not....i am pro-choice as you may or may not be aware of....the abortion piece came out of left field for me........ha ha ha....but peace anyway Brenda................................................i luv these forum threads..........................ha ha ha!
Sorry to interrupt the serenity dream.
But when you mentioned that you wished the word would just go away (meaning terrorism, right?).....I couldn't help but wish that abortion would just go away.
I have no peace when I think of either one.
I'm not politically correct. I can't shove either issue under the carpet.
But thanks for the wish of peace.
I hope for the same for you, in whatever measure we can each have peace!
i'm a dreamer....and i'm okay with that....maybe abortion will go away for you one day.........i would not have one myself...i just don't want to tell a woman what to do....i was surprised at how this turned but i understand where you are coming from....a place of belief....me too......peace Brenda...
ha ha ha...i still never know where threads will go here...and thankfully i do not get upset...well..... most times anyway......gnite!
So stupid.
We used to mix up things with our chemistry set and test them on garden snails. The snails foamed furiously and died. Good thing the Feds didn't get wind of this.
Meanwhile, a company in Texas causes horrible damage. deaths, no charges.
A sixteen year old makes a mistake, felonies!
Lets hope this young girl isn't radicalised by her experience!
UPDATE!
Looks like this is only the beginning... I wonder how many innocent ones will go to prison for each of the guilty ones. Bottom line, say something stupid (which teenagers are often known to do); go to prison.

Brenda has a new word prompt for us, but she has very sad news to share. Ron has passed on. She will be taking a break for a few weeks. But she still gives us a prompt to work on. She still gives highlights of fellow writers' responses to the previous word prompt, "Respect." Let us show...
