Why religion?

   I believe in a single God. But it's the power who guides the entire world. Then what made people divide themselves based on different religions? Is there a need for different religions. Why don't we all believe in the God who made us all?

      Maybe because God chose to allow multiple choices to the question of 'who do you choose'.
      
      I find with God it's about us choosing to recognise Him and then seeking His kingdom over the alternative versions available.

      Okay, so which version do you think we all should adopt? Should we all be Muslims, Christians, Jews or whatever? I think we'd need a war to convince the Muslims to become Christians and hell would have to freeze over before Christian become Muslim. Then we have guys like you saying everyone should just be like me. The stuff that starts wars.

      You answered your own question with your first sentence. However, it is the god in question that starts the conflict and divides everyone. Once we all give up the notions of gods and understand they are just myths, we'll start to see mankind unite. Until then, we're screwed.

      If you believe the bible then there is only one true religion all the others are for the glorification of Satan, it seems to suggest Satan will use these false religions to divide and conquer which as it happens appears to be the case.

         Substitute the word "bible" for any other holy book ever written, and your statement carries equal weight. That's why religion cause so much conflict and hatred.

      ME thinks   ......    the answer to this question can be found in the story about the tower of Babble.           This story isn’t talking about JUST  causing the people to talk in different languages that just moments before didn’t exist.    think about that for a minute!
        They simply lost the ability to communicate with understanding. Have you ever seen two people who were saying the same thing AT each other while arguing?  I have many times.
           If everyone could communicate properly, there would be NOTHING that we could not do. 
      If we could do ANYTHING, we would be doing too many of these "ANYTHINGS"  and instantaneously pull this world apart.    Kinda like we are on the brink of doing now, with all of our advanced knowledge that we have recently obtained.
      What would have happened if all of this knowledge we have today was available 4000 years ago?
      I think mankind would have destroyed ourselves long ago.  And who is to say that mankind hasn’t done that numerous times in the past?   I think that division and diversity is a necessity for the survival of the species. What better issue to cause this division than arguing about our source of origin. All other reasons for argument can be eradicated.  But not this one.
      While we are fighting, we are not searching for that which we are not supposed to see.

   You did indeed answer your own question.
   "I believe in a single God".  The key word being "believe"
   
   Because, you see, you don't know and have made the wrong choice in what to believe.  Other people, knowing that there are multiple gods have no need to believe and certainly won't choose to believe in just one god.  They know better.
   
   As far as dividing people with different religions, sometimes a god demands that his worshipers kill the worshipers of all the other gods.  That automatically divides humanity into segments, but even if that isn't the case, people want everyone else to worship their god rather than a different one.  It helps build power for their religion and helps fill the collection plate.

   every body believe in single God ! but difference is in thinking way how a person think and its environment he/ she found surrounded. name and figure are different but sole is always same "goodness" .
