empathetic, less caring, and more predatory towards others, particularly the more vulnerable members of society or do YOU believe that society has, in fact, become more caring, sympathetic, and altruistic in terms of other's welfare and human condition? Why? Why not?
It might appear more altruistic on the surface in mainstream society.
At least there are no longer gladiator arenas or human sacrifices on altars.
But we are still in the dark ages. Don't expect the appearance of an actual civilization to last for any length of time. This materialistic society is bereft of decency and any sort of spirituality.
Great answer, Jane, welcome back to the forums.
I think society has become very empathetic in reacting to situations like natural disasters that befall other nations, and in global efforts to bring water and sanitation to the poorest of the poor. On an individual level people are by nature neighborly, but there will always be the bad eggs.
I believe in regards to this question ,there are many people generous and show fellow feeling, we can see that when natural desasters destroy many people's lives many come to the rescue ,also on the other hand people in general are also very observant to know that there is always the people scammers and the beggars that make that there living ,instead of working toward getting a real job. We do not want to condone laziness, or people to continue in scamming others out of their hard earned money, but the wisdom comes in knowing when you give, who receives it ,why, and will this person be here the next day or at a newer location, there are many good reasons to donate money and for good causes, I think people are just irritated and fed up that certain people do not care how far they will go to collect money dishonestly .
