I am loosing my plum tree and have already lost a peach tree. Oaks in the park are turning brown. I notice a teen age rubber tree withering now too! Yikes!
The city is giving people incentives to rip out their lawns.
Anyone else here notice drastic effects of our drought?
Is it time to move?
To move? Where to move anyway?! There isn't hiding place on this earth as there isn't "better" place e x c e p t… There has been, and is coming through a prophecy ( ouch, too scary and offensive statement )- that this is coming, next follows… The cure to all calamities is in the decision of " the people " -- the emphasis is on ""PEOPLE "" in its originality as created by the intention of the Creator ( (Ouch again!). Simply, here is the solution :" …if my people, who belong to me, humble themselves, pray, seek to please me, and repudiate their sinful practices, then I will respond from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land." ( The words of the Creator , Master of the Universe.) The one who " does not exists"- and He doesn't beg for acknowledgment , He IS, dimly IS regardless of believing or not believing HE rules !
California is predominant in many offensive and unnatural regulations imposing on the freedom and liberty of those who want and those who do not want consequence of sinful nature manifestation, (Ouch, offensive and unaccepted again.) Well, try your best without God, He will allow to be fulfilled even this prophecy :" Let the wrong-doer go on doing wrong, the filthy minded man go on being filthy, the good man go on doing good, the man who is holy go on being holy…"
Yes, Ive been listening to reports of this for months. They say even if you get a good, wet El Nino this winter, you still wont catch up with where you should be. They say it could take 25-30 yrs to recover. I don't think ppl realize how serious it is. Farmers are allowing great portions of their crops to die in order that they might keep the most profitable one going.
Ppl come into my store and complain about the prices having gone up, apparently having no knowledge of the drought, which isn't limited to CA. I'm sorry about your trees Kathryn... your state is in my prayers.
I live in the Sierra foothills, and it has been very hot and dry here. In the past few weeks we have experienced a lot of smoke, due to the conditions which are causing huge wildfires in the mountain forests. Most people in our immediate area do have wells, but local creeks, ponds and lakes are drying up quite a bit.
Many people do not recognize that California is a huge agricultural state, providing dairy, meat and other farm products to much of the nation (not to mention millions of dollars in exports. The central valley of the state provides almost 50% of the vegetables, fruits and nuts for the whole country.
I have personally seen a lot of uncultivated land, and old orchards being ripped out, but I have also seen some hopeful signs.
We drove through the Merced area a couple of weeks ago and have seen new orchards being planted with drip irrigation hoses in place. This allows a tree or plant to get water at the roots where it is needed, instead of flooding furrows with irrigation canals, which wastes a lot of water. Farmers are responding in the best way they can with better water management.
Will it be enough? Time will tell.
In the meantime-- send a good thought or prayer for the firefighters, they are doing a great job in protecting life and property, but the some of the fires are huge.
Apparently if you have "senior rights" (rights acquired before 1914), you lose no water rights at all... however if you have junior rights, (after 1914) the rights become much more strict. Many farmers who grow orchards where the fruit requires a lot of water have chosen to allow those to die off so that their allowance could go towards crops with lesser water needs. I heard something a while back about reversing the flow of aqueducts in CA. I don't know much more about it, but they thought it might help the issue.
The thought of no water is really scary. Without food you can survive for a while… but not water. I disagree with Michael as far as relocating. I am waiting for divine guidance. He may tell me to get the heck out… Ideally, I would like to find a acre with water/well potential. It's hard to up root and be the first to go. Leave family and friends. But, they might have to join us!
Or the drought could end… but, it really doesn't feel like it will.
It really doesn't.
Maybe we could all rain dance.
???
Or clean up the media and government! (I agree with Michael there!)
...and pray. (Thanks Beth.)
You are correct Katherine . I also disagree with Michael . Who us he anyway to agree with!? On the other side, I wouldn't dare to disagree with the Most High God-YAHWEH , or disobey to say what the Holy Spirit wants me to.
Michael wrote: "California is predominant in many offensive and unnatural regulations imposing on the freedom and liberty of those who want and those who do not want (the) consequence(s) of their sinful natures and (their) manifestation(s). Well, try your best without God, He will allow to be fulfilled even this prophecy "
Yikes.
...maybe Beth's prayers worked. It absolutely rained here tonight!
It is still sprinkling, blustery and cloudy. Really odd weather for CA in the middle of summer!
Update:
Flash flood warning in the San Gabriel Mountains … right above where I live!
Keep up the rain dances and prayers, people! (But, stay out of creeks and streams!)
It's still cloudy and billowy, yet hot and stuffy! Hope the rain helps the water table a little.

When you read the Book of Revelations, it reads like a good sci-fy story, or mythical mystery novel does. Maybe this is because of the fact that the Book of Revelations is virtually a storyline about a dream, which a man named John once had a long, long, long time ago. Most scholars now agree that...

Is there a difference between true faith and blind faith?I think true faith comes from prayer and reflection and meditation, while blind faith is believing in an individual rather than in the Word...eg: The May 21, end of the world forecast.

Watching the 6 pm ABC News this evening, I couldn't believe how the media just slipped in the information about the EPA breaking a pipe, and this arsenic contaminated water is going 100 miles from the source. I am concerned how the media is down playing the fact that the EPA has just damaged a...

Why Do So Many People Believe Everything In The Bible Without Questioning it?
by College politico 13 years ago
Recently I wrote a hub on faith and imagination. Since I was interested in hearing others opinions on how we should use faith in our imagination I started a thread on this forum. Unfortunately it was high-jacked and the topic at hand was not able to be discussed. So this is basically my second...

Speaking only for myself here. I can't see inside other people's minds, so I don't if it's the same for them. When a person tells me about God and Jesus and the whole nine yards, my first natural inclination is that there is no real truth in it. This non-belief just occurs naturally without any...
