We are supposed to fix broken links by either removing them or replacing them. Fine. We don't want broken links any more than HubPages does because it makes for a Hub that we as Hubbers would otherwise be dissatisfied or not proud.
I go to the capsule containing the broken link, click on edit and it jumps to the top. No problem. Probably just a fluke. I can scroll back down and find the opened capsule and begin editing. Only it has not opened. So I click on edit, it jumps to the top again, I scroll back down, I click on edit, it jumps to the top again, I scroll back down, I click on edit, it jumps to the top, I scroll back down, I click on edit, it jumps to the top . . . after remembering that quote from Einstein who said that repeating the same action over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.
Stop the Insanity is something I preach about in my lenses and hubs. Learning from history, I decided to ask my fellow Hubbers:
How we are supposed to fix broken links and violations if the systems actively fights any attempt to make repairs? This is frustrating.
I've never had this problem
Here is what is written on broken links

Under your account scroll to your hubs, find the one with the broken link, and I believe there is a way to ignore it or something with out going into the hub.
None of mine are broken, so I can't test this

For what it is worth, I decided to be patient and the problem fixed itself. Thank you Mr. Meyer for looking into it and thank you Ms. Sexton for commenting. You both have a Happy Thanksgiving!
i had fixed all my broken links and now traffic is getting better
I created a broken link to check it, but Hubpages never detected it
Toni-Roman, I'm having the same problems you are. What are we to do when the direction we get to fix the Broken Links doesn't work? Who thought of putting Links on Hubpages like this anyway? The first time it was saying I had too many Links. So, I never heard about Links before. When I rewrote the article, that's when the message said that now I have Broken Links. The old way was better and less bothersome.
I don't think you had the bounce-to-the-top problem I had. Most of the time broken links mean the site they refer to is down or changed or no longer exists. Beyond that, staff and other fellow Hubbers could help you more.
Thanks for your reply. I checked other sources in order to get information on how to correct the problem. I watched videos on how to fix broken links and read other material about the subject and tried many out according to the information given.
Nothing seemed to work.
Then when all hope seemed to be lost. I checked my article in question. Behold, all was fixed. I don't know how, but the old nemesis (EXCLAMATION POINT) had gone! Did you get your problem fixed? If not. Do what I did. Something has got to work.
Good luck!

Apologies if this question is dealt with elsewhere, but I have a couple of broken link messages showing. I've investigated, and the link is still good. That is, you can visit the Hub that I linked to, and it's still there, no problems. You can even edit the link capsule, click...

I had six hubs showing broken links yesterday. I corrected all of them, but two are still showing the broken link icon. And, the edit date hasn't updated. Anyone else seeing this?
