I only recently discovered that when I go to Google Analytics, and check my Social share numbers, I can click on them and each will show which articles people are looking at.  Since I recently had an article stolen by someone who writes for wordpress, my hackles went up when I saw "wordpress" on the list.  I copied the http into copyscape and low and behold, some RV company in CA had directly copied 34% of my article word for word.  Instead of filing a DMCA, I called them, and they promised to remove the article today.  When I see reads from blogs, etc...it's time to investigate and I'm glad I did.

I have seen the same thing with Blogger but so far I have not managed to discover who they are.  It always come from an article for my Bird Pod Hub.

If you click on "blogger", the title of the article will show up.  Copy the URL into copyscape and the location should appear.  You can then go to the site, get the exact URL and file a DMCA or, as in my case, call them first.

On the reporting page, click on Acquisition, then Social, then scroll to the bottom to find the social sites where your articles were read and click on those that you question.

When the article title comes up, copy and paste its URL into copyscape to see if it has been copied.

i found this both fascinating and helpful.  The hub I mentioned was actually being displayed with a credit and a link to my pages which was nice to see.  Another whole lot appear to be legit and are being shared on a variety of social networks but for the first time I understood how this feature works.  Thank you so much for your help.

            SallyBea:

Thanks.  I found it accidentally a few weeks ago and also think it is interesting because now I know who is reading what and can post accordingly!

I forgot to add that I included the word "wordpress" when I searched for the article.

Glad this is helping folks.  It really irritates me when people copy my work because it makes me feel like my efforts are wasted.  I think if I could get my hands on some of these plagiarists I would strangle them!  Lucky for them I'm so old that I wouldn't have enough strength to do that lol!
