It has been a few years since I've been on HubPages. Wow! It has changed.

Years ago, people could post just about anything, click publish and that was about it. The rules have become much more strict, and now it looks like HubPages stresses quality over quantity. I love the changes, but want to be sure I'm getting the full benefits, so I have a couple of questions about the Hub Score and Hubber Score.

I saw in the Q&A page that, "An external link (not hubpages.com) will have a nofollow tag if at least one of the following is true:

        -Your HubberScore is below 85
-The link is in a Hub that has a HubScore below 40"

Is it possible to reach these scores after your first high-quality Hub, or do newbies have to publish a few Hubs before it becomes realistic to reach these scores.

Also, what if you get away from publishing new Hubs for a few months? Do your scores automatically drop?

Thanks All, I'm looking forward to joining the Hub community.

Yes, a person has to publish a few Hubs before the scores will go up to that level. Exactly how many, I can't remember; it's been awhile since I've been new. I do think it is more than a few to get that score up. I'd make a wild guess at 10 Hubs.

Once it gets to a certain score, my experience has been that not writing for awhile does not lower the score. I've spent several months not writing and Hubber score and Hub scores have hovered around the same number the whole time.

I have not written on Hubpages for almost 6 years. With the passing of mom at that time, I really could not focus on writing. Thank you for the informative information. Is there anything else, some of us old newbies need to be updated about?

        Thanks NateB11,

One quick follow-up question. Do the "no follow" links in my first 10 or so articles get changed to "do follow" after I reach the high scores?

My experience is don't worry so much about hub scores. In the big scheme of things, it means very little.
Focus on quality of content and images and relevant hub title will get you far. Minimum of about 3 text modules, 3 photos and about 300 well written words will usually get your hub featured. Good luck.

Great advice Jackclee. I'm new to this experience and am trying to navigate it all! Thanks!
