With the current & oftentimes precarious sociopolitical & socioeconomic climate, there has been much contention regarding the issue of socioeconomic classes in America. There are those who vehemently argue that the upper classes are becoming richer on the backs on the dwindling middle class. They even portend that the middle class as it once was, either no longer exists or is barely recognizable. They feel that the upper classes are greedy & selfish beyond compare. There are those who strongly contend that the poor are the most exploited & oppressed.
Others counter that the upper classes are that way because they are smart, made educated guests, & created a specialty & brand for themselves. They further assert that the middle class is dwindling because this class refuse to move & adopt to the current socioeconomic times. They conclude that the poor are that way because of a dependent mentality, inherent laziness, & poor life choices. What is your take on socioeconomic classes in American society?
Who are they? You?
The ones who rise above are truly gifted, smart and hard working. No doubt their efforts are because of their tenacity as well. Does everyone possess this ilk and forbearance? Are we expected that we should all have these faculties and strengths? The problem lies in that we are all related to each others success and failures. Whether you are a smart attorney or a street sweeper we are all Americans and are subjected to the policies and ups and downs of this society. Some flourish and some fail.
The desire for the almighty buck has overtaken our compassion and sense of dedication to each other in this mixing bowl of humanity. Is the hugely successful businessman any more important than the veteran who loses a limb protecting the rights and privilege of that businessman. Monetarily it would seem our government thinks so. The person who works all their life as a grocer and pays his taxes is now an entitlement liability because he paid what he should now only to find his government abandons his right to what they promised? There are many such instances and the bottom line is that we all look out for ourselves ignoring what others have done to further our opportunities. But that has become the new America.
You know the saying- "follow the money"?
One major problem is our economic system.
We have to realize that Inflation and deflation are two sides of the same sword.
Both can kill the economy . Inflation causes wage and price increases that spiral out of control.
Deflation allows those with capital to buy real assets at pennies on the dollar.
So, those who control the interest on money can manipulate the economic system to their advantage.
They RE IN FACT ABLE TO CONTROL THE PEOPLE THROUGH CHAOS .
America is in deep trouble without middle-class growth.
I was middle class group for 30 years and we did most of the work and paid most of the taxes.
US GDP chart is a lie , it is in the minus along with unemployment all smoke and mirrors. The BRICS group has Every countries GDP growth higher than the US. Although Brazil maybe lying about their GDP growth.
Please see my forum post , Why not $80.00 per hour minimum wage !
Good analysis of the American social climate I might add. I responded!

What is the differences between working class and middle class

I was born in farm country (raising sheep, chickens and crops) and raised in lower middle class (father was a mechanic and then an uncertified accountant). Now that I am married, we are middle class citizens - upper middle class (my husband is professor in a university. I guess education made the...
