Shooting from the hip... I just heard this news blurb...

Rumor is that Hillary Clinton has given Mark Cuban, (vocally anti-Trump), a front row seat at the debate Monday.

Now Trump says if that is true, then he may give Jennifer Flowers, (need to Goggle her?), a seat right beside Cuban.

A first thought would wonder about Hillary's motive; just a ticket to a supporter and friend, or a political move. My guess is both, but primarily a political move.

But which one; good pro-Hillary PR when the cameras pan the row and his familiar face pops out, followed by the inevitable repeated commentator notes about Cuban's bio, or, an antagonistic face, placed in his face, to rock Trump's boat during the debate? Or both?

Then I wonder... would Jennifer's camera pan draw the same commentator's repeated sidebars about her bio? And if so, does Trump trump Hillary. I don't see how Trump could lose in the trade.

    Petty, or brilliant? A home-run, or a back-fire?>

Love this question of political strategy. My first reaction: Jennifer Flowers is old news and more about Bill than Hillary.  Mark Cuban is current and popular and will remind people that virtually no one who runs in the same circles as Trump supports him for president.

      Win for Hillary.  wink

        ...yes, but....

I thought of that also, but then I considered who might be most impacted - either side. With Cuban I see a face known to a particular base, (those that like him), and also from a segment that knows him, but doesn't like him. I see him more as a validator of already-Hillary-supporters, an assurance more than a swayer of those on the fence. Conversely I also see Jennifer as a supporter validator, but I think the naturally expected assertions in her bio might impact some of those on the fence voters.

Bill was the philanderer, not Hillary. Women, at least, get that. Does Trump have a single one of his contemporaries who support him? Just one? Hillary has a bunch. She even has a bunch of Republicans. I think Mark Cuban's presence will remind people that those who have been around Trump, worked with him, had dealings with him, do not support him. That is very telling.

Bill was a philanderer, not Hillary. But Hillary was a supporter, a willing accepter and a damage control participant. I know a lot of older women who appear to get that and some my age would do it. Although a lot of women don't respect that, me being one of them. Any woman who degrades other women to hide a husband's philandering is very, very low in my book.

I heard on the news this morning that Ms. Flowers has not actually been invited. Another Trump whopper?

In any case, if it is a Cuban vs Flowers front row extravaganza, we will find out 1) if voters care at all and 2) if they do care, is the election about the 90s or about the present?

Mark Cuban reached out to Trump over a year ago and wanted to be his running mate. It didn't matter to him either way, he would be Clinton's running mate.  The guy is dopey.  Now, he is on a jihad against Trump!

          http://usercontent2.hubstatic.com/13208643.jpg
He has discredited himself, after seeming forthright. He is inconsistent.
So! Cuban admits he now has it out for Trump, is going to try to steal Trump's lime-light with the help of Hillary Clinton who invited him to sit in the front row at the first debate. It backfired on the narcissist.

"Donald, initially, I really hoped he would be something different, that as a businessperson, I thought there was an opportunity there. But then he went off the reservation and went bats--- crazy."

Cuban also said that he had talked to Trump before he endorsed Clinton and urged the real estate mogul-turned-candidate that at some point he had to adapt and learn policy.

"I told him directly, at some point you have to learn, at some point you have to read and that that job is all about uncertainty and if you don't do the work, that is not good for this country," Cuban said. "And he just doesn't do the work."

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, addressing the pending NBA vote to oust racist Los Angeles Clippers boss Donald Sterling, confessed that he himself is so “prejudiced” that he would cross the street to avoid “a black kid in a hoodie at night.”

The outspoken hoops executive dropped his racially charged bomb just two days after the NBA formally began the process to boot Sterling, who was caught on tape telling an ex-girlfriend not to bring black friends to Clippers games.

“If I see a black kid in a hoodie at night on the same side of the street, I’m probably going to walk to the other side of the street,” Cuban said at the GrowCo business conference in Dallas on Wednesday.

      From NY Post

Cuban said that overcoming bigotry requires acknowledging internal prejudices.

'I know I'm prejudiced and I know I'm bigoted in a lot of different ways,' he said.

'If I see a black kid in a hoodie and it's late at night, I'm walking to the other side of the street. And if on that side of the street, there’s a guy that has tattoos all over his face - white guy, bald head, tattoos everywhere - I'm walking back to the other side of the street.'

'The list goes on - of stereotypes that we all live up to and that we're fearful of,' he continued.

'I know that I'm not perfect. While we all have our prejudices and bigotries, we have to learn that it's an issue that we have to control, that it's part of my responsibility as an entrepreneur to try to solve it, not just to kick the problem down the road.'

        ---
Cuban defended his views on Twitter, saying that his quotes were not meant to advocate racism.

'The point was that before we can help others deal w racism we have to be honest about ourselves,' Cuban wrote in a tweet.

Did you know that Ms Flowers is one of the Top 10 Hottest President's Wives and Mistresses.  Yeah, she is listed with Marilyn Monroe and the other hotties.  It imagine it must be men who agree on who the Top 10 are?

The media coverage of Bill Clinton's sexual abuse coming out again before the election was a good thing.  Younger people don't really know who the Clintons are, and never knew who Ms Flowers was before, but now they are learning.  Thanks to Hillary inviting Cuban.  Gaff!

Yes, I know. There are enough legitimate reasons to not support Trump without mentioning his hair. It's an easy target.

When are you going to go after the poster who responds to a thread about political strategy by attacking Mark Cuban with no supporting evidence for her ugly assertions? Mark isn't running for president but Trump is.

Nowhere - it's about as valuable as the political ploy of seating Cuba is.  Or complaining about Trump's hair.  Stupid political games aimed at voters too stupid to know how foolish either act is, but will continue to swallow both whole and vote accordingly.

Mike Pence Gives an Update on the Gennifer Flowers Debate “Invite”

The desperate Hillary campaign is playing silly games, which keep backfiring on them.

This latest, “debate seat” debacle was a doozie for the failing Clinton camp.

Hillary announced that porn-teen peddler and infamous womanizer mark Cuban would be sitting in the front row during Monday night’s first presidential debate.

Trump responded by joking that he’d invite former Bill Clinton mistress Gennifer Flowers to sit next to Cuban.

Gennifer Flowers played along and tweeted out...

Of course, the humorless and biased liberal media went berzerk so Mike Pence set the record straight.

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence said Sunday that Gennifer Flowers will not attend the first presidential debate and that Donald Trump floated the idea to “mock” Clinton campaign efforts to district voters by “playing games with front row seats.”  -  From Fox News

Or, the campaign decided it was a stupid move. We'll never know for sure now will we?

wildernessposted 7 years agoin reply to this

Oh, it was a stupid move, all right (Clinton's, that is) - it could never be anything but playing the political game for stupid voters that can't recognize the inanity of it.

Personally, I find Trumps response not only ingenious but funny as well.  Whether intended or not, it epitomizes what this whole election is about - maintenance of the failed political system or forcing a change to something better.

Hillary even got a little slap on on the wrist (amazing there would be any response indicating she was wrong):

"We are going to frown upon -- I will tell you this right now -- whether or not a Republican or Democrat or anyone else attempts by use of tickets in placing people in a front row or not to try to impact the debate. It is wrong," Fahrenkopf <Commission  on Presidential Debates co-chairman> said. "We would frown upon Mr. Cuban being in the front row if his purpose is to somehow disrupt the debate; likewise, if Mr. Trump was going to put someone in the front row to try and impact things."

This is what our political system has deteriorated to!  Using the DNC to guarantee nomination, perpetual mud slinging, ignoring issues and questions isn't enough - now we're reduced to playing games like this to "win" a debate in the eyes of the voters.
