Since I've been back I've been working on updating my hubs, as well as writing a few new ones, and it's paid off.  I have several hubs featured now, rather than only a couple, and I even have one or two on niche sites.  Except this one, which is a hub about poetry, more specifically, poems I wrote for a creative writing class.  I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can improve this hub so it can either be featured or transferred to the Letterpile.  Thanks in advance!

I'd bet money that your big problem is the Amazon capsules and your text links.  As I've said before, you can't include Amazon capsules or links unless they are directly related to the TITLE of your Hub.  For Amazon capsules, you should also state why you recommend that particular book or product.   Most of your links and capsules fail these tests.

For instance, your link to the University isn't related to the title, and it's not necessary.  It doesn't help the reader understand more about your topic or offer them further reading - it's just "tangentially related" and that's not enough.

The second problem is layout.   HubPages has told us that the great majority of readers are now viewing Hubs on mobile devices.  So if you are going to use right-floated capsules, make sure you check how they look on mobile.  You may get a shock!   Just use the Preview button and make sure you're looking at the Mobile version.

Some HubPages' staff are now saying, "just make everything full-width and forget about fancy layouts".  That way you know everyone sees the same thing.   Personally, the nice layouts are one aspect of HP that I've always loved and I think my desktop readers, even if they're in a minority now, deserve them.  But it's up to you.  You just need to notice that if you right-float a capsule, it will appear ABOVE the related capsule on mobile, not below, which can sometimes make a nonsense of your sequence.

One more thing which might be a problem:   I think the introduction is too long.   It is a great idea to have extra text in a poetry Hub because it helps with search engines - but if people come to your Hub to read some poetry, and have to read several paragraphs about your university experiences first, they may lose interest and go elsewhere.

I usually recommend poets to write just a short intro - one paragraph - before getting into the poem(s).  Then if you want to add more after the poem, that's great.

Judging from your post, you need to learn more about grammar, spelling and punctuation.
