Flipboard and author bios are incompatible

Flipboard really helps get views. At this time, only hubs on niche sites should be flipped. I had a new hub and it moved to a niche site. The next day, my views had doubled. I thought it was because of being moved to the niche site. Then I checked the referrer page of the stats for the hub. The increase was due to flipboard.

But I have noticed that HP has moved the author bio on niche sites. It used to be on the side and now it is on the top. Flipboard gives a little blurb for each post and they take it from the top of the page. So now all my hubs have the same blurb--my bio. I want people to be able to read the carefully thought out "teaser" that I am now writing for each hub. It is the first few sentences of text.

I noticed that prior to the bio move, Flipboard was picking up the picture caption and source. I solved this problem by putting a couple of sentences above the picture. Just enough words for the Flipboard blurb.

I am really upset about having my bio show on Flipboard instead of the few sentences I write as an intro to my hub--the sentences that I hope will entice people to click and read.

Anybody else notice this and if so how do you feel about having oyur bio be the Flipboard blurb for everything you flip?x

Not good!  I hope there is a remedy ASAP.  Otherwise it's all really spammy looking to have a bunch of articles with our own bios instead of the relevant topic.

      Hi Catherine,

We are looking into this, thanks for the report!

Thanks Christy. I'm so glad to hear it. And while your at it, can you work with Flipboard to accept all featured hubs even those on the main site. I can see that HP is tightening standards for being featured.

And so sorry for all the typos. I am a bad typist, especially when I am feeling rushed.

Thanks for posting this.  It appears to be happening only on newly moved posts.  My older ones on Flipboard don't show the bio.  This is probably because they use "cached" articles.  However, I did see a few, and they look awful!    I hope the team will address this problem soon!

And I hope the caching won't prevent the appropriate blurb from showing after the problem is resolved.  An easy fix would be to move the bio back to the side. I don't have that much ego that I need everyone to have my bio hit them square between the eyes.
