Editing Questions

After my hubs get published, sometimes a editing person will look at it. Other hubs have not been looked at yet for editing. Is there a program or feature or option on hubpages that I can buy and talk to people about editing my hub? I don't understand the editing process. Can someone explain the editing process to me?

Every hub that you publish goes through the QAP (quality assurance program) process. That only assures that you hub meets the minimum quality standards for HubPages. If your hub is "featured" it passed that test.

The hub will then be evaluated for possible movement to one of HP's vertical sites. If it passed that test, it will be moved and you will be notified. If they think it just needs some minor tweaks, they will notify you that it is eligible to be moved, but you need to make a few changes. After you have made the changes you can resubmit it to be moved.

If it passes QAP, and then you don't hear anything more for a month, then they didn't think it was good enough to be moved to a vertical site. You can then evaluate and edit it yourself to see if you can improve it, and then submit it to be moved.

As it's being moved, do they edit it as well?

Yes, sometimes an article will be edited first and then selected for a Network Site.

Yes, they do often edit it when they move it.  It's great news, because it means they think your Hub has  the quality needed to be on the niche sites (which generally earn more money).

If the Hub needs only a few small changes, then the editors will do the work for you, and  send you a link so you can see what they've done.  When you click on the link, you'll see your Hub with green and pink highlights on it, showing where they've made the changes.   However that's just so you can have a look - you don't have to do anything.

However, sometimes they like the Hub but there's just a bit too much work needed to get it up to standard. In that case, they'll send you an email saying you need to take a look at the Hub yourself. Sometimes they will suggest specific things that need attention, e.g. they might ask you to fix your spelling.  Otherwise, it's just a case of looking at the Hub and asking yourself how you could make it better.
