The above has mysteriously appeared in a summary text of a hub I was putting the finishing touches to. I have no idea what it's for or where it's come from.
I was just about to check the summary box wasn't clicked to 'automatic' and insert my summary. And that's what I found. Any ideas anyone?
those come from using apostrophes or ampersands.
Ahhh lol - run that by me again Sandra I know what apostrophes and ampersands are - but the use of them where? In my text?
Did you copy and paste the text straight out of a wordprocessor?
If so, try copying and pasting it in a Notepad text document first and then copying it AGAIN and pasting it into your hub. It will remove the Word formatting such as smart quotes and other messy stuff that can be created by such applications.

Hi - I'm kind of new to creating hubs and I was hoping someone could explain a little about summary text. What are the advantages of writing it instead of having it done automatically? What is the goal of it exactly? Thanks,Amy

I had a Hub that had what looked liked a "crummy" summary text, based on the automatic thing that happens if one doesn't write his own summary. So, I changed it to something I thought would be better, and then the traffic went down.I've tried to change it back by selecting selecting...

I love the Title Tuner - one thing I would find really useful would be a Summary Text Tuner - it would work in exactly the same way as the Title Tuner but allow me to change the Summary Text without having to visit the hub.My biggest problem with my Hubs is that I always forget to edit the summary...
