Okay, I'm trying to add my Hub on Cooking for Lower Cholesterol to a group. Groups are confusing me. It looks like I have to start my own group. Is there not a group already on health or heart health or dieting I could join? Or does everyone group their own Hubs and not mix?

Yes groups are personal to you.  All the group facility does is links those hubs together in each group.  If you have 3 cookery hubs then in your second cookery hub there will be arrows at the bottom pointing to the first and third cookery hub.

This facility is a bit limited because each hub can only be in one group.  What is does do is saves you having to put links in manually to your other related hubs.

    Thanks, Rik!

I like that feature - especially because I'm going to be doing a lot of health Hubs, so that will work. Plus, I can leave out certain Hubs that aren't relevant.

I also wish there was a group group, so to speak. lol

Yeah creating your own groups work best and then you can also join the relevant tag fan clubs to be a part of whatever topic or tags that relate to each hub or grouped hub for that matter, just click on the topics page and do a search for as many tags as you can find that relate to all of your hubs, this is a good way of getting to know other hubbers who might hub on the same types of topics as you.

The groups also make it easier for the hubber to organize their own hubs.  I have a lot of hubs, so it can be difficult finding the one I want.  Luckily, I can sort them out by my hub group.  So, if I'm looking for a recipe, I can look in my recipe group.  I even have these groups broken up, so if it is a baking recipe, I can look in my baking recipe group.

That's a great idea! I have often wished I could group my lenses on Squidoo, so this is a perk!
    Thanks smile

The sort of "groups" you were thinking of originally are tag "groups", but they are not called groups here - you can become the "fan" of a particular tag, and then when you first log in you see the hot Hubs with that tag. Any of your Hubs with that tag will automatically be in the tag "group", but it's not actually called that.

If you tag your Hub "health", publish it, and then search for "health" - sort results by "latest" - you will see your new Hub top of the list.

    Thanks, Jenny!

Question - do Ihave to join a tag group for my Hub to appear in the search results within the site? Or will it automatically do it if I've included the tag on the Hub tag list within my Hub itself? (Hope that made sense! LOL)

I did notice a section at the bottom that mentioned joining a tag for my cholesterol Hub, so I did it and saw the result of that. Just wondering if i need to join tags for all the Hubs

The site search is based on the tags you add to your Hub.

You would only join the tag group to see what everyone else is doing on that tag. And you don't HAVE to join the tag group - you can always just run a search and see what has been published recently.

It's just that if you DO join the tag fan clubs, the lists you want are automatically sitting there for you all on one page when you log in.
