Love is all encompassing, knowing that the other will allways be there for you no matter thick or thin, better or worse.
Love is not running away when things get hard and giving up....

    Love Is

Love is more than a word

    A warm whisper barely heard

    Tender kiss on trembling lips

    Gentle hands on curvaceous hips

A tingle passed on touching tongues

    Breath captured in rising lungs

Arms locked in a warm embrace

A longing look on a pretty face

    Fingers caress pointed peaks

    Shaking legs becoming weak

    Bodies entwined in passions blaze

Reason is lost mind in a daze

Fire of desire consumes two souls

Two is one now out of control

Love is all this and much more

While one may suffer the other endures

Together in hand a union strong

Ready for all that may come along

Tried and tested loyal and true

Love is all that I've found in you!

    Something unattainable

  9. Newyork204 profile image59
    Newyork204posted 14 years ago

Depends.  There are three different type of love.

    1) Agape Love

    2) Philea Love

    3) Eros Love

Agape love is principal love.  Its not based on emotions.  When you see a guy in a tipped over car and you go pull him out thats agape love.  You do not know anything about him other than he is a human being and needs help.

Philea love is friendly love.  This is the love you would have for friends or something you really like (sports, cars, hobbies).

Eros love is the romantic love and the least logical.  This love makes you go "goo-goo" over someone and you loose all reason and objectivity.  This is the love commonly demonstrated between the opposite sexes though in some cases a person can develop this eros love for a thing.

In English we only have one word for "love" but in Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, etc they make a distinction between the "loves" as they each imply different things.

This is the best answer yet, because it acknowledges that there is not one all encompassing definition for such an elusive emotion.

Love is - putting others before self. If everyone did that there would be love all around.
