I decided to dive head first in the challenge 2 days ago and now I'm dry. Before I took on the challenge I posted 6 hubs, one is looking steady for impressions but it has crap keywords.

On day one I wrote a long hub about getting ten thousand friends on facebook. I really worked hard on that one but then found some tips here and realised I wasted my time. I took the advice and done some research with google keyword tool and search cloud - I chose a topic and posted it not too long ago.

Now I'm dry. I need help. I don't know what else to write and I'm not sure if I'm on the right track with my last hub. Someone please hmm

      From looking at your hubs.

      How about computer upgrades
How to build an English garden
Where are the best english gardens

If that doesn't work.  Go onto a newspaper site
read the news.  I get tons of ideas from that.

    try the idea bank?

Or answer someones question with a hub. Sit down and write out what you like and are interested in thinking in terms of the upcoming holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner and Samhain/Halloween are just days away.

There are all kinds of ideas out there but you have to sit back and relax and not push or it pushes the wrong way.

That is what happened to me when I first tried the challenge.  I decided I was putting too much pressure on myself to write versus writing for myself and the enjoyment of writing.

    The dry spell won't last.

Tried that. I wrote a hub from the idea bank on "how to crack a wep key". I also wrote a hub answering how to get ten thousand friends on facebook. sad I'll go sleep on it, refresh for tomorrow smile

I can understand the dry feeling. So instead of thinking on what more to write about, go back to the hubs you have already published and edit them. Make sure you are 100% happy with them, then when you think of another good idea start writing about it. If you struggle to find ideas don't bother writing new hubs because they will most likely just have been written for the sake of writing.

So, go back and fine tune your hubs.

I have a whole long list of ideas and little motivation to write them right now.

Get some rest, then brainstorm some topics.  I've written a couple of hubs that have helped some people in this area.

If you need more help, holler!

Gemsong the list thing is great, I have one too and it is a bit daunting so here is what I do. I write them out on Word and save them. Give them time to sit and just simmer. I then take out one or two a day and post them after I have done a little editing, gathering of pics, etc. That way I am never without something to post.

I do go for a period of time when I am writing and editing that things don't get posted and some days it's more than one or two. Maybe you could try that for a few days and see if you get some writing done.

Retellect take the night and enjoy it. Even writers take some time off. It helps to do this and not push so hard.

That actually sounds like a good idea. I'm going to give that a try.  Thanks for the advice.

I hope it helps Gem. I just took the plunge and posted another creative writing piece for one of mine. Not a money earner for sure but I like adding those in too.

I still haven't worked up the courage to post my fiction yet. On the bright side I've read your stuff and fanned you.

That is the beauty of HP, I'll be here when you get around to writing it even if it is next year.

Lawl, write what you like, the money and traffic will come. You can be shocked, really - what does well is the worst one and the best one you think does horrible. Just a little hint wink

Just because a keyword pays under $.30 doesn't mean it can't be profitable.

A good thing to think about it, as price per click goes up, that means there are less people clicking it, and there are less people interested. I will leave you with a quote that I wish no one discusses on here:

"The library user knows enough how to find books in the library, using the tools available to them, as someone who has never stepped into a library knows nothing of the internal database, has no clue what floor or shelf a book is on, and barely even knows they need a card to take something out. Everyone was at that first step, but some learn quickly and grow out of that stage."

Miyagi: First, wash all car. Then wax. Wax on...
Daniel: Hey, why do I have to...?
Miyagi: Ah ah! Remember deal! No questions!
    Daniel: Yeah, but...
    Miyagi: Hai!
[makes circular gestures with each hand]
Miyagi: Wax on, right hand. Wax off, left hand. Wax on, wax off. Breathe in through nose, out the mouth. Wax on, wax off. Don't forget to breathe, very important.
[walks away, still making circular motions with hands]
Miyagi: Wax on, wax off. Wax on, wax off.
    "The Karate Kid"

Find your own meanings in that, have fun and hope it helps!

Retellect -- Use the Google Wonder Wheel. It's a great way to do a deep dive on broad ideas that you may have.

My problem is much different.  I have a million interesting things to write about but time always seems to be a factor with me.

I could without exageration write about hundreds of different things and they are things I would enjoy writing about as well.

Just look around you at everyday life and you will find many things to write about.
