    Canibeligion.
    Very nice.

It is all the same, isn't it?
    Apart from stubborn interpretation.

So, if it's a dog eat dog world, consider me a vegetarian. It's too frustrating when followers of Mohamjeabramhachrist all go to war with each other. smile

I have recently started distinguishing what I call "White Bearded God" religions from other religions. I never heard of a war between Taoists and Buddhists, for example, after all...

More importantly, Taoism, Buddhism etc., are *practices.* The point is to learn to meditate, or to be still, etc. If it turns out Buddha never existed historically, I don't think Buddhism falls: because it is the practices and teachings that matter.

Ironically, I have recently started to think that Christianity could also be one of this latter type of religion: i.e., a liberating spiritual practice or psychotherapy.

If Christians stopped debating whether Mary was a virgin, and all the rest of it, and simply treated Christianity as a symbolic system showing the way to an edified life, this would work for me.

So, the irony is that if these literalists stopped beating each other over the head about ridiculous details of "history" then their religion might actually have something good to offer.

Yeah maybe if people actually spent their days actually trying to live what Jesus said to do, instead of debating its history accuracy and legitimacy then things would be a little better in the world. God forbid we listen to what this carpenter said and treat each other good, that's just crazy. The ONLY WAY THAT WOULD make sense is if he was God, Yeah whatever. religion is stupid and a waste of love, heart, and good sense. I don't need a book to tell me its better to be kind then mean.

I fear I have killed the conglomerated philosophy of religion that once was this hub.

Well it is very difficult group to deal with. They range from flat earthers,l (Talibangelicals) and end with those dreaded muohamjehadistchristians, and we all know they fight like hell! lol
