Harsh, I think everyones felt it to some degree. Lets hope the next improves some what.
Growth of any kind is not infinitely sustainable.
There has been little attempt to manage limited resources over the past century.
So the fact that we are no longer growing should be a clear indicator that it is time to re evaluate the system and find ways to manage our resources.
Our system of capitalism is based on continued consumption. Time to rethink what we as humans are doing.
