If you want to see what I am talking about feel free to visit my latest hub about quitting smoking.

I think my time has come and with the help of all hubbers and anyone that comes to read this there is no way I will be able to not quit.

In fact if I dont quit I seriously dont know how I would even be able to show up here.

    Wish me luck

    Cheers

    Dale

I am uber committed to quitting.  I know in my life one day I will have grandkids and I so much want to be around to watch them grow up.

Not to mention I want to be able to keep up to them.

      Cheers

I've thrown my hat in too.

For me the worst part is not smoking; it is the FEAR that I will not be able to smoke. Does that make sense?

That makes all the sense in the world.

I was watching a show the other day that says over half our day is consumed with smoking.

Because if we are not smoking we are trying to figure out when our next one will be.

            yup.
And, plan your errands so you get maximum smoking time. Drive to the farthest places, so you have time to smoke a cig before you get there.
            lol

            Well, i'm off to bed.
            Stay tough my friend

If you need to throw some stress, we're here to catch it for ya wink

            take it easy now.

Best of luck, Dale.  My wife is hoping to finally break a 38 year habit this year.  We've just recently purchased a batch of electronic cigarettes (nicotine plus water vapor, atomizer-delivered) from GreenSmoke.com.  We have the starter kit with 6 mg. delivery (nicotine) in it; to her it's like "smoking air".  A larger batch of cartridges with 8 mg delivery should show up soon.  Once those arrive, she's committed to "making it happen".

But she'll need plenty of support, too, having fought her way down from a 4 pack a day habit to about 1 pack...but never getting it below that for any length of time.

I'll try to remember (as I monitor her effort) to check in here, give you a shout out every once in a while....big_smile

Not quitting wont even be an option.

lyrics I just realised we are having wayyyyy to much fun, there will be consequences, I can think of some who have banned it in their lives entirely .... they will get us banned here if we are not careful, and the fairy issue will remain unresolved!! lol

Sounds like you found a great alternative to the famous twelve step program.

I am a few months ahead of you, but wish you well anyway.

        Are you going cold turkey?

        1. Dale Mazurek profile image62
Dale Mazurekposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Yes cold turkey it is going to be.

I work out of town in the mountains.  Once there Im about 3 hours from any store so I will only have enough smokes to get me to the 6th and thats it.

So if I want smokes it will be a 6 hour round trip.  I highly doubt that is going to happen.

I'll give it a shot, being nagged right now by my fifteen year old son, that I tell people how, but I don't quit myself. So, grudgingly, I join. May 6th for me too. Better buy me some zip lock bags.
