   There are a lot of Black Republicans this doesn't surprise me at all.
   
   J.C. Watts was a great Congressman and would make a great Governor of Oklahoma!
   
   The only problem with Watts is he played for the Sooners.

   Peole are just people regardless of race.
   
   The "Black"... part is just perpetuating a stereotype.  To use terms like Black American, African American, etc.  in my view is just perpetuating closeted racism.
   
   The vast majority are just AMERICAN... they were born here, they live here, that's all they know.  They are just people.  I don't care at all what color people are... I care about what they believe in and what they stand for.
   
   Eventually if mankind doesn't destroy itself there will be only one race as all the existing races combine.
   
   Why do people use the Term Black anything?  You wouldn't call every White person a White Republican or a White Democrat.

   I was happy to see that there are more conservative minded "voters of color" than I thought from the way it is talked about... because it is pushed by many that "most voters of color" are liberal minded.
   
   I grew up in an equally mixed races public school system adn neighborhood in Kansas; we were all equally low income and picked on each other as equals
   
   I didn't comprehend anything about different races until I was in middle school and my dad actually let loose one time with a racist remark, and I learned from that point on that such an issue occurred in life... it was new to my consciousness.
   
   I even became aware of my mom's prejudice of other religions at that much later date in life...that was new to me, too.

   By Gallup's numbers, GOP members are 2% black, compared to 19% for Democrats. To try to shake off the image of being the party of mostly white, mostly older voters, is seems the GOP selected a black chaiman, Michael Steele, and from what you say, they are promoting black candidates heavily.
   
   That's fine. But as long as their politics are built around protecting the intersts of old, white folks and their money, blacks and hispanics will continue to go Democratic. The demographics say the GOP is headed for extiction.

         Frankly, I would like to see certain "discriptors" of the GOP die. The old establishment republican that has lost(or just pays lip service to) conservative values and morals and is more concerned about his/her own pocketbook and power position and stance, for starters.
         
         That is what I like about the TEA party movement...it has foundation stones that are solid, yet is moving toward getting rid of the aformentioned "disscriptors"...in every party.

         Last time I checked the GOP  represented only 20% of registered voters and the shift has been to extreme conservatism. The 'big tent' has shrunk to the size of a telephone booth. It's not surprising that they are putting up 'Uncle Tom' candidates to disguise the shift.

                  I know exactly where it comes from. I just can't believe you used it. All because Blacks that are tired of debt in America, crime running rampant, and the two parties falling completely out of line with no bipartisianship even remotly possible, you call them uncle toms. It's better they all beieve the willie lynch syndrome is the reason for back on black violence, and not just the gand warfare for drug territories? Maybe they see what's really needed. Better education, for better oppertunities. Not being taxed to death to suit the liberals feelings of "We care the minorities" rhetoric. They see the health care bill as an over reach as well, or they wouldn't be tea partyers.
                  I've asked what liberals would say about black tea partyers being racist, since that's all they are, according to you, and I got an even more ridiculous answer. Liberals just label groups of people they disagree with into denigrating categories to justify not listening to anyone, but your leaders of whites have destroyed the world, so it's time to make repriations. All your doing, is setting the foundation of failure for your children. They'll have no country left when they get out on their own.

               ...putting up "Uncle Tom" candidates...? who knows, there may be republican establishment "bought and paid for" candidates...but any from the independent TEA party movement (which are not the tea party groups that the republican establishment has bought and paid for)are not in league with the old establishment of the GOP, nor stand for those twisted lip service of partisan values...

            You and the Democrats have convinced Black people in this Country that the GOP and Conservatives hate them. Its clear the hatred really comes from the left, when there are African Americans who don't buy into the lies of the Democrats you call them Uncle Tom!

               Black voters in America are not stupid. There are nearly 10 times as many black voters in the Democratic party as in the GOP for a number of reasons.  A lot of it has to do with history. Saint Ronnie of Reagan tapped into the dissatisfied  southern bigot who didn't like the liberal (pro-black) bias that the democratic party adopted as policy in the 60s and 70s.
               
               Democrats were registering blacks to vote in the South - and it threatened the white establishment. Enter the Southern Strategy - how Reagan broke the 'solid south'. The region of the country that had been most reliably demcratic in the 50's & 60s became a GOP stronghold by the 90s. By tapping into latent racism.
               
               It worked well for the GOP but blacks Americans have NOT forgotten. The Democratic Party fractured itself to embrace equality in the 70's - equality that included them.  The GOP used the simmering racism to rise to power.
               
               Blacks in America are not stupid - and I am NOT racist.
