    Perhaps I'm missing something, but I have a featured hub here: http://thomasswan.hubpages.com/hub/Onli … s-with-NPD

There is room for the ad below the picture, and I have ads turned on, but no ad is appearing. The ads in the sidebar are appearing, but not the adsense in the body of the article (ebay is appearing fine).

-EDIT- In fact this is the case in ALL of my featured hubs. Is this a change I haven't been made aware of?

I see an advert immediately under the picture. Do you have an ad blocker on?

Not that I'm aware of. I have checked on my laptop (using firefox), and my desktop (using chrome) now. I am still not seeing any ads since this morning. I didn't install any ad blockers yesterday or today, and it would have to be on both computers, so unlikely for an automatic download to have occurred on both. Also I can see the sidebar "tower" ad.  I clicked on a few of your hubs and I'm not seeing the ad below the pictures either. If you can see my ads... I can't explain it.

I have noticed this, too -- not only on my own hubs, but on every hub I visited today. Maybe HubPages changed the ad layouts again?

The ad placement can be different for Hubs based on layout.
I looked at your Hub and did see ads.
WryLilt's explanation seems to be the most likely.
Please disable or remove any browser plugins, tools, toolbars, etc.
Here are some other general browser tips to try as well.

Your saw ads right under the picture? I can see an ad in the sidebar, but nothing under the picture. It's the same in all my hubs, even when I sign out.

I haven't installed any browser plugins, tools, or toolbars since yesterday, and certainly not on both computers that I've checked this on.  Both use different browsers too...

Paul talked about ad layout being changed, starting last night. It would have to be a massive coincidence for that to occur at the same time I've noticed this.

          No.
There are ads directly below your profile image and at the end of the Hub

Profile image? That's the ad in the sidebar. There should be an ad directly underneath the image of narcissus gazing into the pool. There was one until last night. I have this same issue in all of the hubs that I've looked at. Those ads have simply disappeared.

Writer Fox was kind enough to post a link to Paul Edmondson's response regarding our trying different ad layouts.
You can find that link here.

Thanks for this by the way. It explains the change. I wish they wouldn't experiment like that without telling anyone though. I wasted a lot of time thinking my pages were broken. It also reminds me of exactly how vulnerable we are to the whims of those who work here. This could easily cut my earnings by a significant fraction, and I had no say in it, no warning, and no real explanation beyond "we're testing something". Yea, well, I'm sure what I earn here is a drop in the ocean that can be experimented with, but for me it's something substantial. I must say, I'm starting to see why some hubpages writers get so annoyed with the goings on here.  Apologies for the rant, but I've never been so angry with this site. The time wasted and the potential earnings lost because they decided to "test something" has really piddled me off!

My hubs have a different ad layout now too.  And it looks better and less spammy than the previous layout.  I like the change.

When you are in edit mode for your hub and you click to preview the hub you will see exactly where ads will appear once your hub is published. Your hub does have ads in it so if it doesn't appear below the picture that means the layout doesn't allow for it to be displayed there.
