For a long time Dublin had been unfairly described as being an expensive city to visit. This in my opinion is not true today. I believe Dublin to be the same as most popular European capital cities in that if visitors are prepared to hunt for bargains and listen to local's advice they will not end up spending a fortune. For the budget minded visitor there's a no frills website called Free Dublin - it's worth a look.
