I already made a hub about the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios, which was on the 18th. But no way was I going on that day!!! yikes

However now the crowds are back to normal, so to speak. I have a camcorder with a 70X zoom lens so I'm going to take a lot of videos for youtube. Plus pictures of course.

I'll make some hubs and blog post about the shops, the forbidden journey ride, what that butterbeer taste like (cream soda I'm told) and lots of exclusive videos of all the little things most never think of shooting.

Man, my work is never done! big_smile

Thanks, people just don't know how hard it is to go to theme parks one day, spend the next day at home working on the net, then deciding what days to take off this week. Lots of responsibilities! wink

Yes IzzyM, it's that new addition inside Islands Of Adventure at Universal Studios Orlando. The grand Opening was big news, even The Today show people were down there reporting it.

You had to wait like 6 hours just to get into the park, let alone the rides! But right now it's not too bad. However the weekend will be mad again.

Did you know that writer J K Rowling got a grant from the Scottish Arts Council so she could write a book, and she isn't even Scottish? She gave some story to the newspapers about being so poor and cold she had to write her first book long-hand in cafes so she could get a heat.
I LOVE the Harry Potter books, but she's just a story-teller! To get a grant you have to be arty-farty and in the money to associate with the people who have the power to award one.

Well she has plenty of money now! I think she's made over 7 million bucks, or something like that from her books.

Now she also will get royalties from this theme park plus all the merchandise, which should be much more than she ever got from her books.

I think she should give back the grant money now then, it's been put to good use. smile

Well she is one of the richest women in the world now, but I have no idea if her grant was repaid. Grants in Scotland are not given to be repaid, so if she gave them money back and more that would be really decent of her, but not a requirement, and I don't know if she did or not.

have fun! and I'm sure you'll have a review ready for HP.
I would love to get over there, but now it's way too hot for a day at disney, maybe in the fall. enjoy! don't forget your water bottle.

HI rebekahELLE! Yes it will be hot. I know one of the paramedics over there at Universal. Going by myself I can just relax and take videos and pictures. So no pressure, no hurry. Plus with my annual pass it does not cost me anything.

I'll be sure to let you know when my youtube videos are up. wink

Ok, time for some exclusive Harry Potter pictures! smile

I got inside Islands Of Adventures with no lines. BUT, there was a three hour line to get into the Harry Potter land! So I went to the other park, had some fun, then came back at 1:00 PM.

By then you could walk right in. So, go later in the day right now. However it was still very packed with lines to every single thing; shops, beverages, rides, everything.

I did go on The Forbidden Journey ride. I ride theme park rides all the time and I have to say, it's one of the best ever! It's a bit like the spiderman ride only darker and better.

You seem to fly through the air, getting chased by all the villains and creepy things from the HP movies. If you hate spiders your going to be creeped out! big_smile

Also if you get sick from flying or from disorienting images you might not feel well after this ride. But it's really a cool ride.

I did NOT stand in line to get a butterbeer, they need to put around 3 more of those damn carts in there. Anyway I'll be making a youtube video of the place soon, and some hubs about it.

Here's a few pics of the place from new angles you have not seen if you have not been inside it yet. Enjoy and ask any questions you have! smile
