Seachmetrics track rankings for keywords, and have published a winners and losers list for the latest panda update. You can see it here:
http://blog.searchmetrics.com/us/2011/1 … pdate-2-5/
Some pretty big names on the losers list.
However hubpages was a winner, in terms of the number of keywords it is now ranking well for. Here's the graph:
Even though Quantcast shows that in traffic, Hubpages has not recovered to pre-Panda levels, in terms of the number of keywords it is ranking for, it is exceeding pre-Panda. Pre-Panda Hubpages was visible for about 500,000 keywords, it is now 750,000 keywords
Hopefully all the publicity surrounding this will bring back the good advertisers and our CPM will rise!
Having just got 20 hits off 160 hubs, excuse me whilst I celebrate the sucess in general but as an individual sob out loud!
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be hurtful by posting that graph.
It's just hubpages has been through so much, with so many advertisers deserting and so many hubbers reporting CPM halved, I was just hoping that the publicity around this new visibility will bring the advertisers back.
Also - there'll be another panda run in a month's time and you might come back with that.
Don't worry, it is important that the site as a whole functions well. It may be that I see a change soon and I am sure if I do, I will not keep it quiet- I will be yelling it from the rooftops!
Thank you for sharing this great news, Silver Rose! That's great to hear!
This is good news! So if a site has a better reputation and ranking, advertisers will spend more money on their advertising campaigns?
I think so.
Hpads was launched just as Panda hit, and I think the advertisers were signed up prior to Panda, because the CPM was pretty good. However, most of the good advertisers have gone and my CPM at least has halved since March. But hopefully this news means that the hubpages sales team can entice the advertisers back.
All advertisers want is their stuff to be on places that are seen by as many searchers as possible. So they should come back, especially with Christmas looming.
At least I hope this is the case!
The last few days has been better for me, after a dismal period. I didn't notice the CPM as much when I didn't have any traffic, but now that I have a little bit, it does make quite a big difference.
Your assessment is probably correct, methinks.
Thanks for this Silver Rose. My traffic graph on both accounts looks similar to this. Noticed a bit of upheaval around 28th but don't think Panda 2.5 has done me any harm. Here's hoping that those good writers who have 'plunged' will find their traffic (and earnings)on the rise with 2.5!
The changes in earnings were largely caused by changes to ad layouts as we addressed Panda. In the official forum you can see some things we are doing to increase earnings.
Over the next several months we have a number of items that should continue to drive yields up.

Hello Hubbers! I'm fairly new to HubPages, I've been here about a week now and love the community so far! Anyway, I was thinking, since we all have the same goal; to make money, get readers and help people, I thought I would make a topic for us all to discuss the best places to post our HubPages...

Hello,One of my hubs is making about $0.40-$0.60 per day, but I've noticed that my traffic is actually lower on the higher paying days in some cases, and vice versa. I am curious as to which factors go into calculating the amount of money you make on each hub per day. Any insight would...

I have a topic that I researched in Google keyword tool. There were thre columns- Competition,Global Search and Local Search. WhatI realize from reading other hubbers is that traffic and clicks depend on 'evergreen' topics, knowledge, interest, luck, precise keywords for search engines, satisfying needs...

For a long time it has puzzled me how one of my hubs keeps doing great, when it shouldn't. You see, I started a hub on one topic and then changed my mind in the middle of it.Now, back then I had no idea you couldn't change the URL later, so I was horrified when I was stuck with a URL that couldn't...

It's no secret that many Hubbers have been hit by the recent Google 'Panda 4.1' update. Panda is one of Google's key quality algorithms that assesses your content for certain signals that indicate that your readers are happy with the site and user experience offered. If you noticed a sharp traffic...
