Best Xbox Kinect Games For 2011

Updated on June 26, 2011

The xbox kinect is a new technology for the xbox and I'm sure you know all about it,if you don't then by all means go to my hub on the Xbox Kinect. Having got one for Christmas i did some research to see what games are coming out for the kinect throughout 2011 and it looks impressive, there are some absolute cracking games coming out for this new piece of hardware and they make the launch games look rubbish even though i must say i have had a blast with the launch games.Amongst those new games coming out are some family orientated ones and some outright impressive ones designed for the adult kids in all of us.One thing is for sure 2011 is going to be an important year for the xbox kinect.

It really is a clever piece of kit this kinect and i am excited to see how they use all the features it has and incorporate them into the games,it will be fun to see if they can do it,for instance there is a cartoony driving game currently out but there are a number of real looking driving games that are coming out and I'm wondering how they will use the kinect to define handling of different cars etc,it certainly will be interesting, anyway on with the new games to come for this year.

Star Wars Kinect

Star Wars Kinect

This one could well ruin relationships,i myself am curiously looking forward to this game. There has only been one trailer and to be fair it looks impressive,it show you as a Jedi knight battling several ships and stormtroopers, fending off laser bolts with your light sabre and using your force push powers and picking up ships and throwing them,Then at the end of the one minute clip Darth Vader appears and the two square off but that is all we have seen so far.Needless to say it will sell hundreds of thousands of copies simply because it it is star wars so hopefully it makes good use of the kinect and is actually a decent game too.

Forza Motorsport 4

Forza Motorsport 4

As the name suggests this is the 4th title in the well known car racing games, like Gran Turismo on the PlayStation, Forza Motorsport games are recognised for their realistic representation of the sport and come with a multitude of different vehicles and tracks to race, the main difference with this game apart from the fact that the graphics have been kicked up another notch is that the game comes Kinect ready straight out of the box, this simply means if you wish to play normally with a controller you can or if you fancy a completely different experience you can use the kinect to do the driving, you will be standing or sitting there with your hands at 10-2 and will simulate the driving as if you were racing a real car.Sounds and indeed looks great

Fantastic Pets

Following on from the success of Kinectimals this new game due for release on March 15th is a pet game where you start out with four different types of animals, cat, dog, horse, lizard and then you are able to morph them into whatever creature you like and whatever colour and design you may have in mind for them, you can then jump in screen and play, pet and care for your animals, basically the same thing as kinectimals but with a bit more scope and imagination, great for the kids.

Steel Battalion Heavy Armour

Steel Battalion Heavy Armour

Little is known about this game at the moment but if anybody played the previous incarnation you will know that it had a controller with 40 odd buttons and controls and this now famous controller cost 3 or 4 times more than the game itself should of.From the looks of the trailer you will be using a vertical tank as a kind of upright robot tank outfit to destroy your enemies,Capcom say that the kinect will work perfectly to track your movements in this world but it remains to be seen,Trailer looks good though so lets hope they come through on their promise

Brunswick Pro Bowling

Brunswick Pro Bowling

Lets face it we all had a great time playing the bowling on the Nintendo wii even if it wasn't always accurate, but i must admit i didn't have 4 controller so it was a pain to have to keep giving the controller to a mate, this game changes all that due to the kinect support it offers,it is also a lot more grown up then the Nintendo bowling,Apparently Kinect will pick up slight wrist movements meaning people who like their bowling will be able to impart lots of spin and flash moves on the ball and get it to do things that we mortals cannot,Very highly detailed and looking fantastic it was due for release early this year but the good news is people it is already out.

UFC Personal Trainer

This intriguing game is due out April 1st and is a release from the well know THQ,all we know is that it will be along the lines of the last two ufc games only featuring training to keep you fit, seeing as the sport of mma and the ufc in particular are a big passion of mine i hope they do this justice and it does give you a good grip of some of the training involved, only time will tell.

Get Fit With Mel B

Get Fit With Mel B

Another game that Mrs B has seemingly jumped onto, this one has more promise than her dance game though that is for sure, she has teamed up with fitness first which are a huge gym chain and has developed this game with over 100 different aerobic workouts to keep you trim and fit and healthy. This game is out on the 15th march 2011 and has already had good reviews on the playstation move.Good one for those who have overdone it on dance central.
