Top 10 PC Adventure Games

Updated on November 6, 2015

This year there have been many great PC adventure games, in this article we will discuss the top 10 PC adventure games.

Dragon Age Origins

Dragon age origins has one of the most compelling game worlds created in a while. It's strong points are: an intricate and involving storyline, enjoyable quests with enough twists and surprises to keep you playing, lots of spells and character building fun and a rich and interesting world to play in.

The gameplay is similar to the Bioware RPG games like Neverwinter Nights and Baldur's Gate. But where Neverwinter Nights failed, Dragon Age delivers. The blood sprays, the swords clang and the spells explode.

You don't just play a single character, but a group comprised of wizards and warriors of different classes and races. The game is so well done, that you find yourself growing attached to these characters.

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Ever feel the need to dress up like a bat and beat criminals to a bloody pulp. Well now you can do it in Batman Arkham Asylum.

Arkham Asylum is where Gotham keeps all it's insane criminals. In the beginning of the game Batman captures the Joker and takes him to the Asylum. It turns out this was what the Joker was plan all along. He and the other inmates take over the Asylum and trap Batman inside.

Arkham Asylum does an outstanding job of letting you be the Batman. Everything about it: the stirring soundtrack, spectacular visuals, excellent voice acting, tricky puzzles feels like it has been lovingly created by people who are both knowledgeable and passionate about Batman.

Assassin's Creed II

Assassin's Creed 2 is set in Renaissance-era Italy. You play as Ezio the son of a famous assassin. In the game you grow from a troublemaker into a stone cold killer.

At it's heart Assassin's Creed 2 is an epic story of family, conspiracy and vengeance in a beautiful, yet brutal world.

In the game you befriend Leonardo da Vinci, take on Florence's most powerful families and venture through the historically correct city of Venice.

Bioshock 2

Bioshock 2 is the darkest and definitely the creepiest game in our list of top 10 adventure PC games.

The game is set in the underwater city of Rapture. The city was created as a place where people could pursue greatness without the restraint of laws or morals. Needless to say things go horribly, horribly wrong. The citizens turn to genetic enhancements to improve themselves leading to the collapse of the city. You can feel the decay of the world around you as you play through the game.

You can play Bioshock 2 as a good or bad guy and you also get to decide how much genetic mutation you will use, on yourself. These choices eventually change the outcome of the game.

Fallout 3

Fallout 3 is a post nuclear apocalyptic RPG adventure game. The game takes place in the ruined city which use to be Washingont DC. You can still recognize some of the landmarks.

The nuclear fallout hasn't been kind to the bodies or minds of many of the city's residents.

You live in a bunker called Vault 101. One day your father disappears and you leave the bunker to go looking for him. There are a few political and technological factions in the outside word. Eventually you will join one of them and fight for dominance.

Sam & Max

This is a dark comedy adventure game. The gameplay and graphics is along the same line as the Monkey Island games.

They clearly did not have the budget of the previous games. The creators make up for this with clever puzzles, hilarious characters, well-produced cut scenes, and a great story.
