   What was your favorite game to play as a child?
   
   I enjoy thinking of my childhood, it brings about a lot of smiles and happiness. My favorite game to play was Mother May I. Where one person would be the devil and a person was the mother, then you would have about four children as the kids. The devil would not on the door ask what you have and you would give him the catergory, fruits, foods, professionals, etc... he would select which he wanted. The person would run and he would give chase. Oh how I love this game.

   I liked to play "monkey in the middle" before my much-older siblings moved out--  guess who was always the monkey?  lol
   
   I also liked to play "T.V. Tag" with my neighbors--  I don't know if it's a real game or something they made up- the only way you can stop from getting tagged is to call out the name of a t.v. show.

      LOL. I fell on the floor reading "guess who was the monkey in the middle?" Never heard of T.V. Tag, but maybe my daughter and I will play that one. Sounds like fun, especially on this rainy day.

      We never played T.V. Tag outside, but I guess it's possible if you're careful (to not break anything)
      
      Monkey in the middle requires at least 3 people, it was fun

   The neighborhood kids all got together after dark in the summer and play "ghost at midnight".  Basically it was hide and seek in the dark, but the seeker wore a sheet.  Also we almost always played "Red Light, Green Light"!  Oh yeah...remember those days!

      Backporchstories, I remember "red light, green light" as a matter of fact, my sister and I just played this with our kids a few weeks back. Especially because children don't play outdoor games anymore. Everything is indoors.

   Tether ball.  When I was a girl, I was always outside and my dad put up a tether ball pole on our front yard for me.  We played every day.

   As a child, I love playing games with my cousins. Our particular favorite games are hide and seek, treasure hunt and the dark room.

   When I lived in Orlando there were a lot of kids in the nighborhood, Red Rover was a favorite game. It takes a lot of kids to play. The 2 teams face each other, each team with their hands joined in a chain. They take turns choosing a member of the opposing team. The call him with the chant "Red Rover, Red Rover, send (kid's name) right over. The chosen kid gets a running start and tries to break through the joined hands of 2 of the opposing team's members. If he fails he remains with that team, if he suceeds he chooses one of them to take back to his original team. The game continues till all of the kid are on one side, or their mom's call them in for dinner.
