Happiness and Laughing Changes the way we Feel in an Instant

Life can be so serious can't it!

My New Years Resolution is to laugh more and boy has it started on the right path!

Where ever we wonder it could be work, play or in our own little worlds, there are so many serious issues going on around us that trying to laugh to get that feel good factor is not an easy thing to do without being in the most positive surroundings.

That said it can be done we just have to try a little harder to make ourselves feel happy.

We sometimes get so engrossed in our everyday lives that we forget to even think about what makes us happy. Looking at smiley faces and listening to children laughing brings it all back in a second doesn't it.

This advert shows a group of young babies actually creasing up with laughter and every time I see the advert I just roll up with laughter myself.

It is amazing how a look on someone's face can make us laugh whether adult or child.

Try it now, look at the person next to you and either smile or make a funny face or say something funny, I bet the person you are doing this too either smiles back, burst's out laughing or makes a gesture back to you (hopefully not a rude one!).

Take a look at the Cow & Gate advert you will be amazed at how it transforms the way you are feeling!

Looking at things that make us smile can make our day and I for one will probably from now on go into this hub and just look at the video for the sheer knowledge of knowing it will make me laugh and put me in the right frame of mind for the day. By all means if you want to do the same do.

So every morning we see people whether family, friends, work colleagues, dog walkers you name it we see people and stopping to chat is the first suggestion I have to try to gain that little extra bit of happiness.

We are all so busy with our day to day schedules that if we just stopped for a second and said hello to a passer bye or good morning the reaction can be quite surprising.

If you are clearing your e-mails first thing in the morning, perhaps adding something with a tinge of happiness could make the person who sent the e-mail to you smile or even burst out laughing! Whichever it it, what you have said or written can change a person's day completely!

At the doctor's surgery that I work at part-time we have a saying 'A smile or laugh a day keeps the doctor away!! And if that is not the case the team are there to try to make patients smile prior to seeing the doctor.

This positive approach provides contentment and a degree of happiness to everyone we meet and the world would be a much happier place if we could laugh and smile a little more each day in whatever we are doing!

I cannot believe that in the U.K. today the 19th January has been given the name of Blue Monday, where has that come from? I don't know about you but this is not very helpful in lifting the spirits of January, with the cold all around us and bills from Christmas to pay for most of us!

Why couldn't they name it Cheer Up Happy Yellow Day? Blue Monday to me sounds so severe!

Moving on.....

I have just picked up the phone and answered 'hello gorgeous' thinking that it was my hubby phoning to check my day was going o.k., what a surprise I had when I found it was a women who spoke! Yes, we both burst out laughing, I apologized and she said that I had made her day!

Without realizing it and not even trying I had managed to make this person who I couldn't see on the other end of the phone crease up with laughter and me too.

I really believe this is true. I have just looked at some of the pictures in this hub and without fail I started to smile, and yes the pictures made me feel happy because the depicted happiness.

Recently I went to a dinner party with sixteen other guests and the host was 82 and a male.

Now this person had the whole restaurant laughing at the song that he was singing. I find that the younger we are the more serious we tend to be. Our old folk who are retired and manage to live on what they have tend to be a little more at ease with life, laughing is something that they do without thinking in the right circumstances and with their friends and family around them.

There is nothing like a good tickle is there! I can remember when I was this young girls age and my dad used to tickle me, I was so happy, you just cannot stop laughing when you are being tickled!

I myself am useless at telling jokes. However I have a number of friends and family whose whole life revolves around telling jokes. These particular people are so happy. If we could remember jokes that we hear and could pass them on then we would all, I think, at sometime in our day be laughing out loud.

So if we smile more and laugh more the world will be a happier place.
