    What herbal remedy works best for ant bites?

    red ant bites itch like crazy, other than taking benadryl for days, what else can be done as a natural antihistamine?

    You can apply the paste made of baking soda and water and apply alum to reduce the redness and itching eve.rubbing camphor in coconut oil also gives a cooling effect. that the remedy which is traditionally uses in India.

    Calamine lotion works for me.  Or you could . . .not play in ant mounds.  Uncle mounds are even less friendly at times. . . .uh huh.

    Apply asap a drop of lavender essential oil on each red ant bite: it helps to relieve the itching.

    Garlic has powerful antihistamine properties. I haven't tried it for ant bites but it could work.

    Melaleuca alternifolia also better known as Tea-Tree or Ti-Tree; from Australian outback and available in most natural stores worldwide.  Try something like Body Shop.

    Not only for ant bites; but for all sorts of insects, skin problems and many other issues.

    VERY effective and VERY safe,.

    Placing a wet tea bag on the area of pain helps sooth the problem area. Tea bags contain tannic acid that help neutralize the formic acid produced by ants.
