What are the regular food items that one needs to take for dieting?
Over weight has been a common issue. So many of us looking to have a good diet. But what are the regular dietary ideas??
The problem here isn't so much what people eat, it is how much they eat. There are naturally foods that are higher in fat. There are 3 major areas where calories come into play, carbs, protein, and fat. Protein and carbohydrates each have 4 calories per gram. Fat has 9 calories. A recommended diet would consist of items that are less than 30% fat calories. Ideally you want 20% of calories from fat, 30 % from protein, and 50% from carbs. Eat at least 4 servings of fruit and vegetables per day and limit junk food and high fat dishes. Also limit processed foods.
Fresh fruits and veggies. Lean proteins such as chicken, fish, beans, etc. I know it sounds cliche' but if you really do eat at least 5 or 6 servings of fruits and veggies and get enough lean proteins daily, you will crowd out the unhealthy processed junk foods and so called healthy diet meals with things that are truly good for you and your waistline.
I monitor my daily intake of calories, salt and sugar. Normally I prefer to cook myself for lunch and dinner as I will then be able to control the amount of salt and sugar to be used.
I calculate the individual food calories so that every day intake will not exceed the amount I took the day before. This way, I will not likely to increase weight. At the same time, I take supplement like amino acids, protein, etc when I am doing weight strengthening exercises. This will help to maintain my muscle to be lean. So I will only gain muscle weight instead of fats.
